"Went here twice while living in North Carolina. No one was ever there so I'm not sure if they give tours anymore or not. But it is a beautiful house and land. We were able to walk up the side stairs and peek through windows. Not too much inside. I belive they were renovating still from the hurricane."

"We visited Harmony Hall to take our dog for a hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Harmony Hall is one of the oldest residences in North Carolina, built in the 1760s by Colonel James Richardson. The house itself has very limited hours (2 to 4 on Sundays only), but the grounds were open. A number of old historical buildings from the area have been moved here and restored. A great place to learn about this history of the area and go for a hike. I'd like to visit again when the Harmony Hall is open."

"Harmony Hall Plantation Village is located at 1615 River Road in White Oak, NC near Tar Heel, NC. Donated historic structures line the short road to the main structure. The original structure was built around 1760 by Colonel James Richardson. Family records claim British General Lord Cornwallis commandeered the house on his way to to Wilmington during the Revolutionary war. A scenic nature trail leading to the river is being built along with campsites set back in the woods. There are facilities with power and running water on site. Due to limited resources, bring your own lunch as there are no refreshments for sale on site. Furthermore, long pants and suitable shoes are recommended."
