Rustic Water Tower

"The water tower is the last remaining piece of history of what was once a foundry. I couldn't find too much information on this site. The remains of the railroad that runs through the forest nearby was once the Central Jersey Railroad. Plenty of history associated with that. When I was a young boy, my father and brother and myself hiked these tracks when they were still clear. Between the Carranza Memorial and this water tower, there was once the remains of a train wreck that was once labeled by the Philadelphia Bulletin as the " Ghost Wreck " of the pine barrens. All remains of that train have been since removed. Lots of history to be discovered in the area. Some small physical remains of the foundry can still be found scattered around the area of the water tower."

"awesome spot with little ruins dotted around the place. IMO was likely an old quarry that got shut down before it could take off, explains the unfinished foundations of buildings as well as shootoff railroad track to the site. Awesome little hidden nook in the pinelands to explore"
