Historic RittenhouseTown
About the Business
Historic RittenhouseTown, located at 208 Lincoln Drive in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a must-visit tourist attraction. Named after David Rittenhouse, a prominent figure in American history, this institution offers a range of activities and events for visitors to enjoy.
On Monday, April 8th, visitors can witness a total solar eclipse from 2-4pm with Historical Interpreter Michael Carver providing insights from David Rittenhouse's perspective. Additionally, there will be a native flax seed planting session and a sound meditation session with the Black Lotus Holistic Health Collective.
For those interested in hands-on activities, there is a paper-making workshop where participants can learn to create beautiful handmade paper using natural elements like leaves, flowers, and seeds. This workshop is suitable for all craft enthusiasts and will take place in the historic paper-making studio at the Barn, 211 Lincoln Dr.
Visitors can also support the institution by purchasing gifts that will help their gardens grow all summer long. The institution also offers delicious fresh coffee and professional bike services on-site.

"Beautiful trailhead, unfortunately in the 25 minutes I was here my car was broken into and I had all my belongings stolen. I wouldn’t park here and think signs should be put up saying not to leave any belongings in your car so that at the very least visitors are warned. Cops said it is a common occurrence in the area."
"We enjoyed hiking around this little historic mill village near Wissahickon Valley Park. None of the buildings are open, but a mill house and other structures are intact from the outside. A picturesque creek runs along the trail, which leads uphill to a cozy cafe and longer trails. Parking onsite is limited but most visitors park along the road. The trail is dog friendly."
"The small historic town is located right by a creek next to Lincoln Drive. You can park at the limited visitor parking spots by the 1st house or by the Papertrail Bike Cafe on another side. Or, you can also park at Blue Bell Park and walk about 0.75 miles thru Orange Trail. There are only a handful of historic buildings with signs in this little “town”."
"This little area was beautiful. We saw Weeping Cherry Blossoms and even climbed some trees."
