Hammonton Historical Society

The Hammonton Historical Society, located at 333 Vine Street in Hammonton, New Jersey, is a museum and tourist attraction dedicated to preserving the rich history of the town. Established in 1960, the society collects civil, political, and religious artifacts to showcase the social, political, economic, and cultural heritage of Hammonton.

The museum, housed in a building with a varied history dating back to 1887, features over 1,500 artifacts, historical records, periodicals, and books on display and in storage. The dedicated volunteers of the Historical Society of Hammonton work tirelessly to maintain the museum, artifacts, and archives for future generations to enjoy.

Monthly meetings are held at the Hammonton Canoe Club, where the community comes together to learn about the town's history and participate in various events. The society is funded in part by the New Jersey Historical Commission and the Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs.
