"This is a well-preserved old house. The gutters in the back need to be cleaned out, and there is a place on the gutters where a tree limb hit the run in the back. If it is not done the next time I go up there, I will have a step ladder, a drill, some pop rivets, and some clear caulking to fix it."

Don't forget to get your parking pass on line ahead of time before your trip so you can stop and walk around! You will also see elk and old barns how the hole community worked together back then."

"It is really neat to view a historic house. The house was built in the 1800's, but was renovated in the 1960s to the current view. There are Elk nearby in the Cataloochee Valley. The interior of the smaller white building is in need of some remodeling from all of the foot traffic going thru it. I'm glad some of the historic buildings were preserved."
