"Beautiful piece of history."
"Love this place but it's not a fort infact it's a Catalina Barn with a spring under it. It's not old enough someone done a study on it so they need to change the marker sorry but true"
"I was in Parrotsville Tennessee, looking for a plane crash site and came across this. Swaggerty Blochouse just off US441 outside Parrotsville. Originally believed to be built in 1787 by James Swaggerty has a blockhouse. For protection against Cherokee and Native Americans. It was later determined by checking the age of the logs. The blockhouse was actually built in 1860 and believed to be a cantilever for cattle. Owned by Jacob Stephens, the historical mark still maintains the original name. Just pull off into the grass area, blockhouse is just off the road. No restrooms or picnic area."
"My great aunt is very interested in geneology and has informed me that I am in fact a descendant of these Swaggerty's. The name was fudged when we moved west to California. Very cool to see those names on historical markers after I've heard so many stories about them."
"Magnificent piece of History."
