Reviews of Lam Museum of Anthropology
"Parking was interesting and entering a little confusing with the signs but once inside this place is amazing!! So much interesting information and me and my kids loved the scavenger hunts and the musical instruments."
"My wife and I had some free time, and really enjoyed your museum, especially your interactions with the students that were there, learning about the day of the dead. Enjoyed your displays, your staff was great, too. Thanks for making our day fun and interesting!"
"Very informative. Learned a lot. Love the cultural focus! The lectures were a bit long for the students. Activities were a nice touch."
"They were very protective of their artifacts, which I understand. They acted like 8 year olds were goingnto ruin things. Misses Smith was very informative with her talk."
"Such a tiny, hidden gem! Ok, compared with Chicago's Field Institute or NYs or DCs museums of natural history, it's zero stars. But for a tiny facility that is free and perhaps convenient during a visit to WS, it's delightful! Staff is on hand to answer questions and everyone was genuinely nice and concerned that my questions were answered. At one point, spouse and I were pondering a fine point of one of the exhibits. When we turned to the nearby receptionist (a student) to ask, he'd already started researching the question online! The exhibits change periodically and the only real cohesiveness is anthropology in general, but introductory panels provide an excellent overview of the many sub-specialties within the field. Clear efforts have been made to make the visit interactive, including an Escape Room option in the Africa room. Throughout, displays are nicely done with up to date and attractive signage and cases. There is clearly much love, great thought, and keen intelligence that goes into the exhibits and making this "mini museum" worth the hour it'll take you to enjoy it."
