"Flattop Manor is lovely landmark just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. They had an active apple business. This is the barn used to store the apples. You can see it by walking up from Bass Lake — it’s about 1.2 miles from the car park at the lake. Well worth the visit"
"Love Moses Cone and the Apple Barn area for hiking and horseback riding. There are miles of trails in the beautiful forest and around lakes. The trails are gravel, flat and very wide. There even is a company that runs horse drawn carriage rides to see the beautiful scenery. Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!"
"This is such a great place to stop if you are going to Pigeon Forge. They have ice cream pies a bunch of different flavors of apples and plenty of shade if you want to eat outside. They even have a Christmas store and restaurant. Lots of parking too."
"We walked to the apple barn from the Manor house, it was downhill the way backup is mostly uphill with some flat spots. We seen some deer along the way. Wish they would open the barn but it was nice to look at. I wouldn’t make the hassle to come here though we just had free time on our hands and my s.o goes to App so we decided to check part of this trail out!"
"Easy to moderate hike up hill from Bass Lake Trail. Links to other trails like The Maze and Cone Manor trails. Was storage for apples when area was part of an apple orchard - can still see some of the old apple trees. Trail used by hikers, runners, dogs, and horses (so watch your step!) Very old established deciduous trees everywhere."
