"Building where John Lennon lived, and also unfortunately died. Must-visit for all Beatles fans even though it's not an entirely happy place given the history. However it's nice to think of the times John lived here and imagine him walking over to Central park."

"went there in August 2009. forgot to take pics. the place where John Lennon and his family lived. His life was cut short suddenly at the front of the building on Dec 8, 1980. I'm a huge Beatles fan. RIP John."

"The Dakota is a famous apartment building located across the street from Central Park West. This building has been home to many celebrities, most notably and famously home to John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It was just outside of this building where John Lennon was tragically killed. It’s a must visit for any Beatles fan."

"The Dakota Apartment building was built in the late 1800s and is located in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan. Designed in the Renaissance Revival style, the building was one of the first large developments in the area and is the oldest remaining luxury apartment building in the city. The building is designed as a large square with a central “I”-shaped courtyard, through which all apartments can be accessed. The façade includes large dormers, terracotta spandrels, niches, and balustrades. Many celebrities have called The Dakota home over the years, including John Lennon, Judy Garland, and Bono."

"Great looking building! If you’re coming to NYC for the first time then you’re likely going to Central Park. Then do yourself a favor and stop by this phenomenal looking building. Waking around it is always nice. Note that the mornings have less people around it, if that makes a difference to you. Super simple to step out of roughly the midpoint of Central Park and go take a look and be able to right back into the park."
