"Jamie and the team has been representing my family for years. With both Social Security and also Veteran claims for my sons and I. This firm is amazing with getting positive outcomes. Every claim that they have handled for us has been won and there have been several. The legal system and the handling of these claims make it almost impossible for one to handle their own personal claim. It is a long and exhausting process and without representation most likely will be denied, then denied again. There are deadlines that have to be met and they are so amazing with moving the case forward. Office has great communication with what is going on and what is needed. There is no way that I would had been able to handle these legal issues without the professional help I received during the entire process. Especially with Covid and the S.S. offices being so backed up. I was assigned a claims manager before signing on an attorneys office . The claims manager would not return calls, ever. I had deadlines to meet and Social Security would not make appts., return calls and I was totally ghosted by them. Once Jamie and her staff took over the claim, things started to move. If you need representation I would not hesitate to recommend Halpern Olivares PLLC - Jamie Olivares for assistance."
"I cannot recommend this office if your issues involve being neurodivergent or anxiety. They might be just fine for other circumstances. The initial phone call to the office after receiving my denial letter wasn’t bad. The person I spoke with seemed sympathetic and willing to help. The appointment was scheduled just over a week after the phone call. This did not help my anxiety, as there is a strict deadline of 60 days to appeal a denial, and I had already lost some due to the denial arriving just before the weekend. The person who greeted me also seemed helpful during our brief interaction. The lawyer, not so much. Maybe it would have been different if I had been able to fill out their forms, or had done the original disability application correctly, but then, if my executive dysfunction wasn’t a major issue in my life, maybe I wouldn’t be applying for disability to begin with. The stress of my anxiety made it difficult for me to communicate in a clear, concise manner. Thanks to the RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria) that comes with being neurodivergent, the lawyer’s demeanor, particularly as the interview continued, did not help. I told them I have medical records, including most, if not all, of the paperwork from my L&I claim for the physical side of my issues on a Google drive I could share a link to, as well other paperwork. I also had the same information on a flash drive that I had with me. While I totally understand the prohibition keeping the lawyer from plugging the drive into their own computer, their apparent lack of interest in even glancing at such information rattled me enough that I failed to mention that I had brought my computer along specifically for that reason. Or that I could provide paper copies. I just hadn’t brought them with me because they aren’t as organized and compromise a stack of paperwork almost 4 inches high. They were unwilling to accept that, even though I am a woman in her 40s with no income, I do not qualify for Apple health, or other state assistance, as federal tax law changed a few years ago allowing my father, who currently supports me, to claim me as a dependent. His income is enough that I do not qualify. They suggested that my father just not claim me. 1) given other factors, it’s better for his tax liability if he does, and 2) I am not 100% sure on this, as it’s been a couple of years since I lost Apple health for this reason, but I believe the language is “can someone claim you as a dependent”, not “does someone claim you”. They seemed completely dismissive of the issues one may have in finding and maintaining proper medical care as a neurodivergent adult. Humiliatingly, in the end, I had to grab up my papers and get out of there before I had an autistic meltdown in the office. All in all, a horrible experience."
"If I could give more stars, I would. Professional, understanding, prompt, efficient….just a few words to describe Jamie and her team. HIGHLY recommend!!"
"Update December 2023: We won! Jamie and her team have been assisting members of our family for 5+ years and I have recently been approved, making this the 3rd win for my family. My brother hired Jamie to represent him with his disability claim. Jamie and her team performed flawlessly. He was approved. I did not think twice about hiring Jamie when my 25 year old disabled son needed representation for his claim. He was approved. Of course, I have hired Jamie to represent me with my disability claim. I overthink everything and I always have questions. The office team has been patient with me and wonderful to work with, I appreciate knowing with confidence that I can relax and go about my life knowing that I have true, skilled professionals handling my claim. Highly recommended."
