"We love Dr. Hamel at Swedish Edmonds Peds. She is friendly, warm, caring and truly invested in the well-being of the whole family. We always feel heard and never feel rushed. Our teenager gets respect and autonomy while being supported as someone with Autism and umbrella disabilities. We also love that she is LGBTQIA+ supportive. Great all-around support staff at this location, that's easy to find and has plenty of parking!"
"My son had an appointment at Swedish Edmonds pediatric clinic for annual wellness check. On the appointment day one of the medical assistants send us in the exam room and we were waiting for doctor more than 1 hour! After a month we received a bill for $340.00. My son has active insurance and Swedish is in the network, but for some reason, the clinic did not send any claim to the insurance and the billing department sent us a bill of $340.00 for this visit. They sent us this bill every month (3 times so far) and each time we contacted the billing department and the clinic, and they supposed to fix it, but we were surprised with a new bill every month. We contacted the insurance company several times and they said we did not receive any claim from Swedish. Also, I checked my insurance account online and I do not see any claim from Swedish pediatric clinic. Finally, we paid $340.00 OUT OF POCKET for just annual wellness check. I scheduled this appointment 2-3 months in advanced and the clinic scanned my son's insurance card. They have enough time to verify the insurance. (this is active insurance), Now, 3 months after the appointment, they still did not send any claim to the insurance, and I end up paying $340.00 out of pocket. I am really disappointed with this clinic; I never go there again or recommend it to anybody."
"Called twice first time waited on hold for 90 minutes only to have the line end. Second time the receptionist could not answer any basic question about the clinic or providers and was not helpful at all. I had zero confidence in the ability of this clinic to handle care let alone a phone call to try to establish care. Very disappointed because in the past the providers were great so maybe it’s just the office management."
"As with all medical, it is wise to advocate aggressively for yourself or your child. I advocated for autism tests on my child to at least two respected long time doctors here pointing out developmental differences in my child. Despite continued delayed or advanced development in my kid, all was in the range of "normal". For the child's privacy I won't go into all the "range of normal" symptoms. Autism is like that--it's often a collection of many little differences when it's Level 1. Medical intervention was needed and I suspect may have been ordered had the child been male as autism studies are not based on female as often so doctors miss the signs. Although I understand how they could have been missed, I'm forever disappointed in the clinic because of the suffering it caused. We can't recover those lost years of misdiagnosis and the "normalizing" done when this mother asserted concerns about the earliest issues. MOMMAS AND DADDIES LISTEN TO YOURSELF. BE AGGRESSIVE. B-E-A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E! DOCTORS TEST THE GIRLS FOR AUTISM EARLIER and PLEASE UNDERSTAND THEY MASK better than boys."
"At one point, Swedish Edmonds had a host of professional, compassionate doctors, nurses and staff ... ... long gone. I cannot believe an appointment scheduler who I won't name,, called to tell me she had to cancel my granddaughter's appointment because we were out of zip code. Same area. Doesn't make sense. Scheduler had no remorse when I told her we waited a few months to be seen. I called patient advocate to inquire. Haven't received a call back yet. Goodbye Swedish - the rep is tarnished."
