Reviews of Pediatrics Northwest, P.S. James Center
"Always had a positive experience here. Dr. Coleman was always very sweet, patient, informative & understanding. My daughter has severe anxiety & Dr. Coleman was always patient with her giving us advice on how to handle her anxiety. She always heard us out with our concerns as first time parents we had many. Sometimes calling to schedule or reschedule would take some time but I’ve rarely stayed over the phone for 30 minutes. If it ever came to a 30 minute wait on the phone I’d message through MyChart where I’d receive a message within in hour unless it was the weekend."
"Never answer the phones been calling for 3 days for a physical for my son been on hold I give up and try again. So I would say hard to get an appointment. Good doctors been coming here since I was a kid now my kids go."
"They had a lock down due to a shooting in the area and did not contact patients to tell them not to come in. Our appointment was an hour and a half after the lock down started. I found myself in the building building hallway at a locked dark door with my 4 children as it dawned on me that this was a lock down. I was terrified as I rushed my children back to the car in a panic not knowing what the danger was or even where it was. This is unacceptable. Their job is to care for patients and they failed."
"I’ve taken my kids here for years and some of the doctors are really great. I like the front desk staff. There is a nurse practitioner there that I don’t appreciate seeing named Lisa. Both of my kids have seen her and she seemed to be dismissive when I expressed questions and concerns. Comparing my child’s case with another child’s case. I’m not a health care professional, but that doesn’t seem appropriate. My daughters PCP had autism concerns and had us assessed by Lisa. I didn’t feel like Lisa was listening to us and said she didn’t think my daughter had autism concerns and didn’t refer us to further assessment like she said she would. One day it looked liked my daughter was having seizures so we rushed her to Mary Bridge. They did an EEG and it came back clear and the neurologist and doctors said it was a form of stimming. To self soothe her and seen commonly in kids with autism. The bill was over 20k for one night and for the tests . If we had been helped sooner my daughter could have received the help she needed earlier and this all could have been avoided. I had no idea about stimming. After our ER follow up my daughters PCP listened to us and put in the referrals we needed. She was also confused why the referral was submitted earlier at the time we saw Lisa. She also reassured us that what my daughter was doing was stimming behavior."
"I understand the frustration in some of these reviews, but honestly some of the struggles people mention are really common in any doctors office and cannot be controlled, by both the patient and the staff. I've gone here my whole life and its a great office. The nurses are nice, and my doctor has been so helpful and supportive of me. The wait times can be long sometimes, and calling them may be hard, but its really nobody's fault- its a doctor's office, they're busy with other patients too, remember youre not the only one waiting to be seen "
