Reviews of The Children's Courtyard of Issaquah
"We've been here for a year and half, there was some initial challenges with management, but has since improved significantly! Now we have awesome trachers and supporting staff, they give children love and care (We've been through several classrooms so we know pretty much all the teachers, from the infant room, toddler room, twos, early preschool and preschool!) My shy child would come home and announce "daycare is fun!""
"I cannot say enough nice things about CC at issaquah! We've sent our child to this daycare for over a year now and absolutely love it! The teachers are all amazing, kind and considerate. For example, when we started daycare, my child was on 2 naps and had to be moved to 1 and the teachers did an amazing job helping her transition by patting her back to sleep to bridge her sleep cycle, adjusting meal times for her slowly or just letting her sleep if she needed to! The staff there is AMAZING. They are organized and send out weekly menus or calendars, take feedback and make changes when asked, accommodate each childs unique needs, do a ton of activities (Pajama days, movie nights for parents to go relax, valentines day, christmas, birthdays, bicycle days, parent-child events and so much more). My child loves the center, is learning so much and actually cries when we pick her up in the evenings cos she wants to stay back and have fun! I'd pick this center over any other in the area for all of these reasons and the biggest one - video streaming! We have access to live feeds and get updates and pictures so frequently. Sure there can be a few teacher changes through the day but I don't mind that because now my child is used to being with different teachers and isn't too upset when her favorite teacher is not in the classroom. It also has proven to be helpful in the potty training phase where she is comfortable with all of the 'teacher figures' to go tell them that she needs to use the potty. All in all, we love the center!"
"I enrolled my son into the infant program at the start of Jan 2024. It was his first time away from me in his 5 short months of life so that I could return to work. The school was very accommodating to allow me to visit on my lunch breaks to nurse and cuddle while we transitioned in our new routine. His main teacher Ms. Sarita is very caring to the babies and I can tell she enjoys what she does! She’s been open to feedback and communicating to make sure we can meet my son’s needs as he grows through various milestones. He wasn’t a huge fan of formula when he started and we worked through issues to make sure he was eating enough food at school. I’ve been impressed with the schools director Ms. Shayna who makes sure to always say hi to all that come in even when she’s very busy. It’s only been about two months since we started but I’ve been very pleased and come to like all the teachers and staff that I’ve had the opportunity to get to know. I’m looking forward to the rest of the year with all the family activities that they take the time to arrange for us to form a community. I’ve felt very comfortable and safe leaving my son there. It’s nice that I can check in on what’s he’s doing with the live feed!"
"There's been a lack of communication from the school to the parents. When they lost a staff member, we were give two days notice that their classroom would be shutting down until finding a replacement teacher."
"My child has been here from the start but the experience has deteriorated significantly for various reasons I’ll list below: 1. Significant turnover of the staff. You never know who will be teaching your child’s class on any given day. Children need a consistent routine and familiar face. This doesn’t happen here anymore. Our child can have upwards of 3 teachers rotate through in a day. Classrooms are also maxed out in ratio so don’t expect your child to get any real attention if needed. As I mention below, basic needs are barely met. 2. Poor management - the current management, after the previous director left is struggling to manage the staff. Teachers seem unhappy and this shows in how they care for the children. Teachers seem exhausted and rotate through multiple classrooms and different children almost daily. 3. Basic needs - It’s rare that my child gets regular diaper changes. More often than not, he comes home with severe diaper rash. 4. Lazy staff - Some of the really great teachers have left and although there appear to be a couple good teachers left here, some of the others appear to want to do the absolute bare minimum. 5. Communication - consider it non-existant. Currently the bare minimum of updates of diaper changes and meals are not being sent to parents through the app. This has been a significant shift. Overall, I’d suggest steering clear of this daycare until they resolve the issues mentioned above. Ask them about the above issues before you consider enrolling your child! I truly do hope they get things sorted out quickly as the children are suffering."
