"I went in mouth ulcers and a lump on my throat. He did a strep test which came back negative, then just told me I was simply sick, to take a walk, take zinc and call it good. I brought up my concerns with the ulcers, asking if he can prescribe something to heal them faster or calm the pain. He brushed it off and sent me on my way, instead of prescribing something or testing the ulcers. After 3 days they were severely worse so I went back in. Spoke with a different doctor, she did a test and it came back as hsv-1. She said if they weren’t as bad she could have started me on a antibiotic but do to severity she could only do antiviral. If he had tested my ulcers like I was concerned with this would have never gotten as bad as it was, and I would be able to talk, eat, and drink normal. I am beyond upset due to this having gone “unnoticed” for no reason. I could have been diagnosed so much sooner and been able to start treatment so much sooner as well."
