"Proceed with caution, folks. I have a weird and pretty rare condition in my ears. In a nutshell, gross stuff builds up way faster than it should, I can only clean so much of it myself and need to be monitored by a specialist. When I moved up here, Dr Zizak admitted he'd never heard of it, which wasn't too surprising because it's so rare, but when he examined me, he said everything was healthy and normal. I thought maybe it spontaneously healed? I was having earaches so I went back in. Dr Zizak looked for a single minute. Totally healed, he said. Don't bother coming back. That struck me as weird. Finally, I broke down and bought myself an opthalmoscope and looked for myself. It didn't take a professional to tell that there was no miraculous healing, the condition was still there and was getting worse because it had been left untreated. I'm lucky I caught it quick and it was nothing life-threatening. It's disturbing to think of how many people will have serious medical problems just because their doctor really doesn't care."
