Reviews of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Medical Pavilion - Edmonds
"No sense in trying to make an appointment at this clinic. 11 doctors accepting new patience, and not one of them has an opening for 8 weeks."
"I’ve been a patient here for 25 years. I’ve always had excellent service here. Last year I visited my PCP, Dr Gallaher, for stress-related issues and needed to get an FMLA claim started. She was so efficient at getting that done that she impressed my company’s FMLA department! She also worked quickly to get me referred to another specialist in the Edmonds clinic when that was necessary."
"I have gone to this clinic for 20 years. I was here back before VM took over and ruined it. My doctor of years, who was truly fabulous, left the clinic and then I was told there was a waitlist for another physician. My clinic I have been at for 2 decades and they couldn't be bothered to help me find another doctor. So the director at the time felt this was ludicrous and she put me on her caseload. That was fine until she left too! Then I was back on a waitlist. Since changing hands you can't get in for appointments, misdiagnosis, lost labs, wrong bills...I am so irritated. The Healthcare monopolies have all but driven small private practice clinics out. This clinic is one I would avoid."
"Absolutely love my doctor and the care team here! I have been going here for three years, my husband and kids all see the same physician and we adore her! Unfortunately, I have to give 3stars because the people at the front desk are straight up rude!! Sarah (blonde) is such a rude woman, I do not know how she still has a job here. I have had less than pleasant interactions with her both on the phone and in person. Tonight was the last straw. My husband needed to sign a form for our physician and was instructed to swing by the office, the front desk would have the papers, he should sign and then ask them to make a copy and keep the original and leave the copy for our doctor. Sarah was super rude handed him the envelope and then closed the door in his face. The clinic doesn’t even close until 7pm (it was 5pm when he got there) excuse me Sarah, why are you closing the door on someone?? He read the instructions in the envelope and knocked on the door again since he still needed assistance, she opened the door and cut him off saying “I don’t need to deal with this” to which he replied you don't need to be rude I am just following the instructions my doctor left for me. I don’t know why, but Sarah always treats patients like they are an inconvenience and an idiot. Sarah should find a new job if she is unable to help patients and keep her cool."
"Seemingly the only doctor willing to learn about and assist with trans issues is out of town right now, so who knows when I will get my prescription. The wrong medication was written down (gel instead of cream) during my visit with Dr Cotter (who was great otherwise, but leaving town the next day). I messaged them over the weekend about starting the correct medication. Yesterday afternoon they responded asking why I want cream, and said they would have to research it. Not an ideal start (like you wouldn't ask *why* someone wants an IUD instead of an implant, or liquid medication over pill format) but I quickly wrote them back and explained the difference. They hadn't replied yet by this afternoon. I figured they must be pretty busy, so went ahead and did the legwork for them. I sent them a bunch of very official, high quality information about the medication I need. I even found out the dosage I need (which every source I could find agrees on) and included it in my message. They wrote me back almost immediately, letting me know that they aren't covering for my out of town pcp for the rest of the week and saying they "don't know anything" about the medication I need and "have no experience starting testosterone for gender dysphoria". Like, read through the .gov guideline websites I sent and then you *will* know something about it. Help me with this prescription then you *will* have experience with it. Can you imagine how absurd that would sound if you said that about literally anything else? "Sorry, you broke your leg, but I don't have any experience with prescribing the pain medication you requested so I'm going to leave your message for some other doctor to pick up if they can." If you didn't want to help me with this, you should have handed me off to a different doctor from the start, especially since this has been a one-reply-per-day conversation. I'd like to fill out the "have you ever experienced medical discrimination because of your gender" part of the appointment form again, cuz my answer has changed. Edit: clarification"
