"I always have a wonderful experience with the front desk. I enjoy the family locker room - it makes swim class so much easier with a 2 year old. I also really like that you are able to get basketballs, racquet balls, racquets, etc on your own. You don't have to leave an ID to check out equipment. I also consistently enjoy the toddler gymnastics at this location. The teachers are very involved & invested in the children & the families. After the first couple of classes at this location, my son learned new skills & continues to improve. He adores his teachers at this location."

"Our family loved the facility and all its amenities. The child care staff is superb. They cared for our kids like they were theirs. While we got to work out. We had been members for almost a full year I believe. Around this time last year we signed up. Recently, due to work and last minute medical expenses. I asked member services to freeze my account. They offered to start that freeze either immediately 12/11 or the 1st of Jan. I wanted to think about it. So I chose to just start it on the 1st. Next day I thought about it and could use the savings. So I called Lakewood. No answer. called Tacoma ymca. They told me my account was already on a freeze immediately and that I should be receiving a refund amount? Confused as I didn’t do that at Lakewood. I continued to confirm the information and said that I appreciate the help and look forward to returning in a few months. A week later I received a denial email of any returns from a Nicole Rodewald. She’s very black and white with no compassion. I don’t feel like we’re treated as people with management. More of transactions. She didn’t care what staff had told me. I was never looking at a full refund but rather more understanding of what I was told and half the services since we wasn’t using them. I have now cancelled my account and will not be returning due the cold shoulder I received."
