Reviews of South Sound Physical & Hand Therapy - Market Place
"I came to this facility for Mary, the massage therapist. She said this branch has more openings and I think I know why ... I never got a text confirmation, as I did religiously from the Cooper Point Rd. location. My first visit, I got lost and explored two medical villas before finding theirs. Ok. Fine. I am already late for my appt. They try to ask the patient after me to wait an extra 15 min. The receptionist says no, she won't wait. Mary emphasizes what a nice person this patient is. She must be pressed for time... Hmmm. Ok. No one's fault. And I am willing to lose the extra 15 due to a first time visit. My kids are in the waiting room because their father told me he was working today... On the way back from the airport... At 8:08 pm. Now I could offer someone $20-40 to watch them for my hour appt but that would be more than double my copay. And, I don't have rent. Also, people like me desperately need back massages for stress and trauma. Anyone who is a single parent in this economy understands how tight money is now... And how important physical therapy is to support my kids and the kids I work with. Now, the receptionist squeezes her nose at me and asks if next time... Maybe...could... someone else watch them? I said, "Well that would be $20 an hour, on late notice but totally. Did they bother you?" "No... but... they kept coughing into their hands." I see the kids cozied up to a tablet, a bunch of Kleenex in hand and two waters. I ask them if they bothered her. They say, "No." I ask if they asked her for water. "No, we got it ourselves." Did you blow your nose into your hands? I ask. "No! We used Kleenex." Sure enough, lots of dirty Kleenex. Then I realized this was just a tiny case of ageism. They were kids. That's all. I am in another doctor's office with adults coughing and blowing their nose. They drink water too. Nothing wrong with them. They just have a monetary value, right? They must be treated with respect because they pay. My kids are extensions of me and my pay. Now, again, the Cooper Point Rd. office has a basket full of toys and kids books. When their father bailed on me for my first appointment, they told me they were totally fine with helping, she had a narcissistic father and understood. Their dad had left them with me and said if I didn't need him, I should figure it out without him. Thank God for women who understand. For those who don't, you are very, very lucky. I won't be coming back to this branch. Mary is leaving anyway. Do not recommend."
"The therapist listened to my concerns and came up with exercises to help me. She explained how each of the exercises helped my concerns. Also brought up issues that I had not thought of and addressed those issues also. Everyone there listens and tries to help. Very attentive and responsive."
"Brittany is sharp, experienced, and quite personable. Importantly, she got more results than three other physical therapists, two chiropractors, and two massage therapists who treated me previously. They used methods such as ESTYM and rolfing that were quite painful while her cupping therapy wasn’t at all painful. She also gave useful, detailed feedback on exercises to do and responded promptly to questions and comments I sent through theIr portal, which it’s something no one else offered and I really appreciated."
"The care I have received has been specially catered to my physical limitations to overcome my chronic pain. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Brittany Petrie (and Hilary too!), their genuine desire to help their patients as individuals as compared to "just patients" is the most refreshing experience I've ever had as a patient."
