"We went to see the doctor specifically to get a prescription for medication refills. She said she would send it through to our pharmacy but that hasn't happened yet and it's yet again a struggle for us to get this sorted out. We wish we had decent proactive healthcare in this country instead of this reactive health insurance system. Also, they charge us $17 for usage of the building!?"
"Dr. Pirmann is the absolute best. All 3 of my kiddos are seen by her, so is my little sister. I will always recommend her to anyone looking for a pediatrician for their child! She is always pleasant, she always listens, she responds quickly over messaging, and she is so kind hearted."
"Hard to make appointments. We travel over an hour to use them because they are the only pedestrians near us. When asked to make an appointment for both kids we were told we had to make them way in advance. Like I plan for my kids to be sick at the same time. I would understand if this was just a routine visit, but it wasn’t my kids had to be taken to the hospital the night before. My husband left a message asking for a call back for an appointment due to what the dr at the hospital had said that night. No call and so my husband called in the morning mind you it’s Friday. We were told no apts until next Friday and we have to choose what child should be seen. Now this isn’t the 1st time they have done this to us. The next apt isn’t for 2 more weeks."
"The current reviews about this office are completely outdated and now inaccurate. I was nervous coming here because of the reviews, but I now realize that this is a gross misrepresentation of this place. I had the most wonderful experience coming here. I have a four year old and a newborn and I’ve seen a few pediatricians and honestly this was the best experience I ever had with my kiddos. The front desk Staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and very courteous. Office is clean, spacious and easy to find. They have separate entrances for wellness checkups/vaccines and sick children - and I mean a completely separate door and waiting room, not just the other side of the office. We were seen very quickly and on time with minimal waiting time. The doctor and the nurses were absolutely wonderful! Warm, gentle, caring and extremely knowledgeable and informative. They were very respectful of our decisions and choices, very non-judgemental while being very Informative at the same time. They absolutely DO answer the phones. They absolutely DO have an after hours call line with a doctor on call after hours. I was very happy with my experience here and so grateful to have such amazing medical services available here in Astoria. I cannot praise them enough. As a mommy, I can honestly and whole-Heartedly recommend this pediatric clinic."
"The absolute worst pediatricians office you could go to. They NEVER answer their phones. There is no in case of emergency standard procedures. If your child has something happen on the weekend or after office hours you better figure it out on your own. The dr I saw was judgemental of very basic questions. The receptionists ignore you when you walk in to check in for your appointment and I don't mean like"oops I didn't see you", oh no, you stand at the counter staring at the face of the receptionist who does not look away from her computer to even knowledge you are in the room. If they are on the phone you could be waiting 10-15mins before even being acknowledge. Since moving out of state I've tried to contact the office numerous times (again they don't answer the phone so I've left messages) to have my child's medical records transferred to our new pediatrician and I have still not recieved a return phone call. I know Astoria is limited on options, but if you can find somewhere else to take your child do it."
