"I have to say, the assistants/nurses are amazing, helpful, and kind. I have a great experience up until a practitioner walks into the room. Then I feel dehumanized, talked-down to, rushed, and like they don't know what they're doing. I've had several negative experiences, including a practitioner trying to give me a papsmear without lubrication, effectively retraumatizing me and causing me pain/discomfort. This is one of many specific reasons I will be seeking care off island."
"Turned me away when all I needed was a tetanus shot. Had to go to San Juan island to get one. I'll update this review if conditions improve."
"Knowledgeable, helpful, courteous staff - responsive in a timely manner. Great doctors and nurses. The Patient Portal system is awesome! I have fast access to my records, visit and test result reports, and great research articles to help me understand my health issues and put together a treatment plan tailored to my individual preferences and needs. The system and transition took awhile to get up and running smoothly and for us to get used to, but in my experience, has only improved with time."
"Very disappointing experience! My husband went in with critically high blood pressure (198/118). They treated him like it was no big deal. They had him sit in the waiting room so long (meanwhile he could have had a stroke at any minute) while they called everybody else that was not a emergency. We ended up leaving without being seen and going to the other clinic nearby who treated him like the emergency he was. Got him in a room right away, laying down, hooked up to monitors, and gave him the medication he needed!"
"Nice staff when you can get them on the phone. Unfortunately, when needing something that my specialist said to ask primary are provider for, gaining access to my doctor, and filling a request made by my specialist, well, the pieces never got put together. A simple medication request, that should have been very easy just did not get linked up. Now I'm having to get by without that needed component. Only reason it was requested through primary care vs specialist was due to timing and distance of travel to obtain needed medications from specialist. Nice front desk staff, however zero help when connecting to primary care doctor and absolutely zero follow up to make sure things got handled properly. I know it's busy, but I never had this kind of issue until my doctor switched into UW medial center. I'm very disappointed and now questioning what sort of care I will receive when more than a simple medication is needed. If they can't do a 15 minute task, how can they properly care for patients?"
