"I have mixed feelings about this location. It is a nice park, great parking, clean, and super close to eateries/shops/library. The walking paths are nice and wide and level. Handicap accessible. There is a great picnic area and bathrooms nearby. The park itself is sunk, lower than the busy street it is right next to. This buffers the playground from a lot of the noise and danger of traffic. However, I had a very unfortunate experience around noon on a Thursday. When I arrived at the park with my child, we had the park to ourselves and enjoyed the quiet, two other parent's with kids arrived. Also, three strange men just "hung out" on a bench next to the playground for quite a while, (we checked out the garden island and played on the swings away from them) then I thought they left, so my daughter went to the playground area. One of the other moms comes up to me and points out that the tree strange guys are still there hanging out on the corner with the flags just above looking down on us. She strongly felt they were "casing the joint". So, if something bad were to happen, because that park is low and secluded.. people from the roadway wouldn't be able to see it happen. I think it is just like another park in Portland, you need to stay vigilant and be prepared for strange people. I chose to leave right away with my daughter because the other woman was leaving and it wasn't worth the risk if these guys had tried to do something."
"Beautiful Japanese garden amongst many other outdoor activities for the whole family!"
"If you haven't experienced Gresham's Main City park, don't miss out & put it on your to-do list! With 20 acres of park including, walking paths, the Japanese gardens, the play area, the fenced dog park, the ball fields or if you want a great meet up place if your on the Springwater trail - it has it all! I've not listed everything this area has to offer, it would take me way more time, & honestly taking about it, I think I'm going to load up the fur children & head out there! Especially now in October, the leaves are phenomenal. See you there!"
"Our family loves this park! Clean and nice, Japanese garden is beautiful and the playground is nice for kids. Lots of room to roam , walk, bike or just take in the day."
"There is a nice play grudge here and a lovely garden near by that is free. Pets are welcome but you must clean up after them. I found broken glass by the play structures. Before your kids play make sure to look for dangerous stuff. There is a homeless community close by so some times you find something. There is a place to play basketball close by too. It's a cool little spot to explore bering days hours."
