About the Port Orchard Waterfront Park
Port Orchard Waterfront Park is a beautiful park and tourist attraction located at 933 Bay Street in Port Orchard, Washington, United States. Managed by the Kitsap County Parks Department, this park offers quality-of-life enhancing opportunities through the management of natural areas and specialized facilities. The park is committed to fostering community stewardship and providing outstanding service to visitors.
One of the exciting projects at Point No Point Park is the beach and shoreline repair project, aimed at repairing damages caused during the 2022/2023 Winter season. Phase 1 of the project, which included importing sand and rock materials to the north beach, has been completed. Phase 2 will focus on further improving the beach and shoreline, with plans to increase beach elevation, plant native vegetation, and rebuild the rock revetment wall in front of the lighthouse in 2024.
While the park is undergoing repairs, limited access is available. The WDFW parking lot is open, with additional parking options nearby. Updates on the project can be found on the Kitsap County Parks website.
In addition to Point No Point Park, the Stottlemeyer Trailhead Parking Lot at Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park is set to open in February. This spacious parking lot offers convenience and accessibility for visitors exploring the park's hiking trails and nature paths. The parking lot is designed with eco-friendly elements to preserve the natural beauty of the park.
As the park undergoes restorative selective forest thinning operations, some trail sections may be periodically closed for safety. Visitors are advised to stay at least 300 feet away from active logging equipment and adhere to trail closure signs.
Kitsap County Parks is also working on the Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park Framework, based on input from various stakeholders. The framework outlines access points, trailheads, and recreational areas within the park.
For those interested in the Silverdale Waterfront Park in Bayshore, Washington, the Byron Improvement Project is underway. The Parks Advisory Board meets monthly to discuss park-related matters and provide updates to the community. The Kitsap County Parks Foundation offers opportunities for community involvement and support for park projects.
Overall, Port Orchard Waterfront Park, along with other parks in Kitsap County, provides residents and visitors with opportunities to enjoy nature, outdoor activities, and community engagement.

"The Mustangs on the Waterfront Show, an annual event hosted by the Kitsap Mustang Club. Models were on display from all genres and styles. Downtown Port Orchard waterfront parking lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7. Raffle drawings, a kids’ coloring contest and valve cover races..."
"Cute seaside park with a playground and outdoor gathering space large bathrooms on site and access to a small beach for viewing the water. Only down side is that though advertising says there’s free public parking it’s VERY limited. The majority of the spots, especially near the park are PAID spots. There are MANY signs to let you know"
"Fun spinny playground flanked by beach access stairs. Picnic shelter, grass, boardwalk, and right next to the library! Beautiful flowers abound too! Love this park!"
"Bring the kids to the park right on the water. Enjoy a well maintained paved trail. Perfect for roller blading, skate boarding, walking your dog, bicycling, ect. Feel the nice cool breeze on skin. Listen to the waves. Watch the birds. Stop by one of the local bars or restaurants. Perfect place to unwind and relax."
