Reviews
"I have been extremely happy with my care at the OHSU Breast Center with Crystal Turner as my provider. From scheduling to appointments, the process is easeful and staff and providers are all extremely kind and patient-centered."
"The goal from this review is to improve the quality of patient care at the breast surgical department. There were several concerning or upsetting situations. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months ago. I had couple mammogram at OHSU, they scheduled me immediately for Breast biopsy. I had very good experience. Pathology results was Received next day with no delay in my care. Still very good experience. I needed Surgery and the struggle and the stress started here. Big disappointment. I requested in person consultation but the receptionist said they are only virtual. The surgeon did not examined my breasts or axilla or heart or any area before my surgery (The question here: can the patient exam change the treatment plan?!). The new diagnosis was shocking surprise for me. My pcp gave me some anxiety medicine so I can sleep. Preop nurse instructed me to take my anxiety medicine before coming for surgery and I did. The morning of surgery, the surgeon came to my room angry saying “I have not done the consent for the procedure yet with patient”. The truth, I don’t remember I signed the consent. On the post procedure instructions, I was instructed to call and make postoperative appointments. When I called the breast clinic requesting one. I was told no appointment needed. Dr. Naik will call you when she receive the pathology result. She called saying you’ll need another surgery. No details provided on what need to be done next. No after phone call visit summery shared with me. I struggle to schedule my surgery. Finally I had my surgery performed 6 weeks after the first surgery to remove the additional cancer in my body. Moving to next step for my breast cancer treatment with radiation oncology at OHSU and Dr. Cook team, my experience is amazing and the care is outstanding."
"I am beyond disappointed with my interaction with the staff at this clinic. After explaining my situation, I was told that my scenario “wouldn’t fly with the vision of this particular clinic”. In other words, if you are not an older woman, with a family history of breast cancer, you are not worth their time. To make matters worse, they have an unlicensed, non medical personnel, making these decisions. I feel discriminated against and will be looking further into my options."
"If you ask to have a procedure explained, you would expect to be told all relevant details. Unfortunately, they don't think it's relevant to tell you when they plan on leaving a foreign object inside your body. A foreign object that has the potential to cause pain and can only be removed surgically. So much for informed consent."
"I work at OHSU and I would NEVER, EVER recommend this place to anyone. Extreme run arounds, poorly run, ccomplete disorganization. I am 7 years out from bring diagnosed with cancer and they refused to let me see a doctor (nurse practitioner only) because I was more than 5 years out. Save yourself the heartache and go anywhere else."
