"This business hired me full time then four weeks later reduced my hours to 20 hours a week in a bait and switch. I find this highly unethical. You instantly put someone in poverty and make them have to look for another full time job anyways, forced to quit eventually. Why hire full time in the first place? If $1000 of profit margins make or break their business, they should remodel their business. They have a high turn over of employees for a reason. They also keep taking away the tip jar because they don’t want to declare it in taxes. Customers come in confused the tip jar comes and goes. Who would have a good work ethic with employees like this?"
"Absolutely abysmal experience here. Came in with a friend to buy some canned beverages and we were treated so poorly when checking out. Both my friend and I have official change-of-address stickers on our ID's - issued by the Oregon DMV. (We get it, it looks suspicious - not something we have control over) The person ringing us up was so skeptical of our ID's that he began telling us that he would be fired for selling to us because we had "tampered" with our ID's. He even went as far as to say "I don't make the rules, Tina Kotek does". I was unaware that Tina Kotek passed a law invalidating all Oregon ID Cards with an official change-of-address sticker. We told him we did not need to complete the purchase but we were also not going to be accused of tampering with our ID's, however he continued to ring us up all the while providing a narration of how what he was doing was illegal and how his manager was nearby and could fire him on the spot. Again, we told him he did not have to sell to us; we just wanted him to understand that we have no control over the DMV or how our government-issued ID's look. If it's good enough for TSA at the airport, why isn't it enough for a 30 yr old to buy a canned beverage. Such a shame to live in the neighborhood and be treated this poorly by a local business. Save your business for Pearl Liquor or Sip City."
"I entered this liquor store to see the selection that they had available. I wasn't there for more than fifteen minutes, and two workers came to ask me and my husband if they could help us look for anything. I understand asking once or twice, but five times within fifteen minutes, it's ridiculous. As a minority, I felt like I was being watched to see if I wasn't going to steal anything. I definitely will not be shopping here if that's how they treat their customers."
"The staff was very informed and helpful. I was buying liquor as a gift for a house warming. I was unfamiliar with type of alcohol as well as the brands. They took time, even though they were close to closing, and helped me find the perfect gift. Needless to say the gift was a hit and my friends were impressed with the selection. I will be choosing this place the next time I need to impress. Thanks for the help!"
"This little store has always been wonderful to me. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The fellow with the glasses and (today) a pink beanie has, in particular, always been a gem. Very knowledgeable, polite, and generally enjoyable to interact with. He deserves a raise! You've got to show appreciation when you've got an employee that shows appreciation to the customer. Keep up the good work Glasses Guy!"
