"A cute little shop with fantastic Washington wines. The owners are so friendly and the views of Penn Cove, the Wharf, and Main Street Coupeville can’t be beat. Pop in for a fantastic beverage, great conversation, and a sense of what island life is all about!"
"This was a good experience, my bro and I got a lil tipsy and tried some fantastic wines, the white wines in particular were really good. They had this one wine from Walla Walla that was just incredible! Told the guy I didn't like his Rosé and looked like I broke his heart. Felt so bad after that, he's really sweet."
"Fam friendly wine shop with bottles o plenty and some snacks. Indoor and outdoor seating with a million dollar view of Mt. Baker"
"I would have given 5 Stars but.................. decided to take a quick run down the coast from Fairhaven to Coupeville WA. yesterday (6/12/2021) as we had just moved into the area and we found Vail Wine Shop & Tasting Room. What a wonderful surprise. The owners were very kind and knowledgeable, the wine choices were terrific (we had the Ryan Patrick Reserve Chardonnay) and the small food pairing were perfect. We tried both the charcuterie tray and the truffle popcorn, both were just what the doctor ordered. We sat out front, watched the world go by and enjoyed the mid-afternoon sun. My ONLY complaint, or should I say concern was that we were charged an additional $5 for corkage? Not trying to sound cheap (especially after we spent nearly $100 for two, for some wine and snacks + tip) but if we are buying the food, eating on the premises then WHY are we being charged this fee? Maybe they should call it an "un-corkage" fee. Maybe it's a Washington State thing, I am not sure. Will it stop us from visiting Vail Wine in the future, NOT AT ALL, just confused about the process I guess. :-("
"It's disappointing to say it felt like we were wine tasting at Chuck E. Cheese's. Bathing in the sunshine right outside the door of the wine shop were us, two other older couples, and two loud adults with their four unpleasantly obnoxious toddlers. These children were compelled to bring various noisy toys, grumbling, yelling, ect. Don't get me wrong, children will be children; but parents should be parents. If one wants to amass a group of toddlers to a wine tasting room, let's make sure they're on their best behaviors. We moved seats twice trying to have a better experience. Despite a kind older couple managing Vail Wine, its quaint ambience, delectable chowder and wonderful wine, I just can't recommend wine tasting here if you enjoy peaceful atmospheres with it. If your luck was like mine, a disrespectfully loud family will show up and none of them will give two flying cares about anyone. The older couple managing the place might not have been sure how to handle this. Hence, Vail Wine valuing their customers business over their customers experience is the price we had to pay. On our way out I turned around to make sure I didn't miss a big bright 'who needs a babysitter, bring the kids!' sign or a 'kids 5 and below eat free!' sign at the entrance."
