Reviews of Shell
"UPDATE: They have sadly do not sell burgers or Shellritos anymore OLD: [One of the best places on the island to grab a bite. The Sellrito and BOM burger are outstanding. A great little hidden Whidbey treat.]"
"New ownership began about 2 years ago here; it's been a terrible experience to go here or to buy gas here ever since. 1) their per gallon prices are WAY HIGHER than other stations that close-down earlier in the evening near by; leaving a driver no choice but to pay the higher price if it's after 10pm 2) when a storm knocks out the power here, the whole crew SHUT DOWN the store, disappear and hide-out at home somewhere til power is restored--VERY much a SELFISH, NON-Community oriented group 3) customer service is nowhere to be found; ask a question at checkout, you'll get no answer back--just a blank stare; very rude 4) for some reason they no longer have a Scratch Lottery ticket selection or even just the ticket machine here; asked them ..'why?' and got a blank stare for an answer In a small town like this, you'd think the new owners would try and 'fit in' or maybe provide some actual service to the community; not these guys; purely here for the profit and if it isn't easy for them, they ain't gonna do it--no matter what it is. SAD."
"came by for a burger. The person at the cashier is just plain rude. No manners, no show of appreciation for your business. Will not be coming back. Much better burgers with much better service down the street at Bubba's."
"Use to be a great place to grab a quick bite to eat, has since fallen way down hill. I stood at the counter for The burger bar for 10 minutes and there was only one other customer in the store at the time (2pm). Had 3 employees walk past me and not one asked if I had been helped yet or even acknowledged my existence."
"Great selection of grill foods. Among the stereotypes of gas station foods, this location is above par for quality. The higher ingredient burgers are priced decent. The plain hamburger a cheese burger... Bit too pricey. Good portion of fries for price, flavor of battered/ seasoned... too much. Taco bar is great! Flour tortillas good... Corn seem like they are dry... Even steaming them does not seem to help. They need to get a different Brand or store them differently. This is not just one experience... This reflection is from dozens of attempts to get a well rounded perspective. Most of the employees are attentive and friendly over the years(high turnover) Want something to go, this is the place, even compared to other restaurants to go orders. Prices, portions, and flavor... And you do not get charged for a to go order like a place in Freeland does."
