"Hoping my input would be taken in a positive manner. They have very limited stock and the lassi wasn’t looking fresh so I ended up buying mango juice, pack of Indian cookies and hot sauce. Cashier was sardar sahib. We spoke and I found him very nice person. So far so good right. I took off, while driving I tasted the cookies first. Noticed it’s weird taste. Thought to check the expiration date and for sure it was expired. Then checked the hot sauce date it was also expired however mango juice was not. My message to the owner please remove all the expired items as soon as you can."

"I've been coming to this store for the better part of a decade off and on. I knock as star off because recently the hours of the store are unpredictable. Even google had them listed as permanently closed. As of 6/4/22 they are still open and it is the same man behind the counter. They're open from mid afternoon to late afternoon 7 days a week, but that doesn't always mean he will be there and the shop will actually be open. I went out a few weeks ago and waited for a while but he wasn't there. I recommend not making this your primary shop when you go to the area, make it a part of the stop that way if he is closed you aren't wasting a trip. This really is the only shop in the area to get Indian ingredients so if you are shopping for food, its better than going to Kent. I've been buying food items here for years, and they keep with high quality for a long time. I finally ran out and wanted some Aloo Paratha so I decided to stop in and see if they were really "permanently closed" or what. Fortunately for me, he was there with the doors open. I can't remember for certain, but I think his selection has expanded. He has a large row of some of those hard to find Indian spices, and a great case full of Naan, Paratha and more. Everything is well within expiration date windows, and there was even a cold case of Paneer and some Indian yogurt. I loaded up a basket which even included soy curls! Made me very happy. We were already in the area to hit some Korean groceries so it wasn't the end of the world if he wasn't open but I wasn't excited about going all the way to Kent to replenish my supplies. I will say, if he is closed try to not take it personally. I've only ever seen this one guy working in this shop and he does it 7 days a week. Life happens and there have been some big things going on in the world. Again, just make it part of a bigger trip to the area and be willing to try a few times. It's worth it for authentic Indian products imported from India at a fair price!"

"Disappointingly, after a very long drive, over an hour, India Bazaar was closed at 1:45 in the afternoon. I rated 2 stars, because in general, I really like this place. But, this is not the first time it's been closed during open hours. Whoop!!!! Look who just showed up! Also, the food selection seems to have been greatly reduced. Lots of incense, smudge sticks, blankets galore, beauty aids, bangles and other beautiful jewelry as well as some ladies clothing."

"I buy my henna powder here and have purchased clothing here many times as well. He has some of the most beautiful skirts I've ever seen, and is the only place in town that I've found wrap pants/fisherman's pants. The clothes are about mid-range prices, not cheap, but not ridiculously expensive either, and you definitely get better quality than what you are paying. There is always good stuff on his clearance rack, and if you buy more than one item, he will very often give you a deal. I've only ever seen the one man working, I assume he is the owner, he does an extraordinary job of running his business all by himself as far as keeping large variety of things in stock and offering fair prices. He sometimes will be closed during times he has posted to be open, but considering he works all day long, 7 days a week, I think it's excusable. I think it is really important to support and shop local small businesses, especially right now during the whole COVID thing, and this is probably in my top 5 favorite shops in Tacoma."
