"I called 10 mills trying to find an outfit that would match the width and routing pattern of some Douglas fir floors from 1947. I had exhausted my search of second use stores and reclaimed materials. When I called I was asked to send a sample and within a few days I received a call back saying they think they could do it. They were willing to try. That’s all I was looking for. Well, they more than exceeded my expectations. Not only did it match, but these floors are now the show piece when you enter our newly renovated home. Forever grateful! Thank you!"
"We had a really great experience with Chris! He was super helpful and his response time is so fast. It just so happened they were able to deliver the tongue and groove ceiling planks to our home in Portland, which was absolutely amazing. We used the planks in our vaulted ceiling in a new addition in our home. They were easy to stain, and easy to work with--overall a really great product!"
"I’ve purchased material for a few different projects from these guys and never been disappointed. The wood is always quality and the service is great. Super easy to work with and they always have what I need."
"5+ Stars for Whidbey Millhouse. I searched far and wide to find a millhouse that had the capability to recreate a specific cut of wood for our 1960's historic community, after being told it wasn't possible I stumbled upon Whidbey Millhouse, not only was it possible, they even knew how to make a special tool required to provide the exact cut needed to replicate the shiplap that was original. I was provided an exact blueprint of the cut they would create along with very detailed dimension's of each board, they provided various options for the wood choices based on our environment, they were quick to answer and questions or concerns I had as well as great to work with. These folks are pro's and I highly recommend Whidbey Millhouse and would use them again in a heartbeat for any future projects requiring quality wood products."
"Whidbey Millhouse has all the attributes of an excellent, growing company. Owners are highly motivated, customer service is 5 stars, prices are competitive +++. We saved almost $800 when owners suggested mixing our request for 1940's reclaimed Douglas Fir with new wood to achieve a better match with our current floor. IMO Douglas Fir is underrated for flooring because it's a "soft" wood. Come look at my living room floor from 1908. It's amazing and low-impact on the body. More opinions, but Douglas Fir is part of our NW heritage. Say "no" to highly coated wood from the Amazon rain forest!! Buy local!"
