Reviews of Anderson Island General Store
"Great place but yeah head scarf lady is bbbbbbb**ch. I'll be back to grab and go again real soon. Try and catch me with that angry shuffle you've perfected living on dat island. And hey owner.. Dont defend her. You hired her you let her be rude to guest.. So then you get bad reviews. Micromanage for Buddha's sake and maybe these fun time reviews might stop."
"Only one person in the store won't sell propane There's the only place on the island that sells propane that they're not closed yet but they still cannot serve me propane have a half hour before they close and they said they have no one that can serve propane Why do they sell it if they can't serve it then after I sat frustrated I was looking on line for other options and then the lady with head scarf who was working in store came out and said that she would be able to help me with propane after she closes due to being able to not leave store open which I fully understand for she only worker I was very thankful for the help she had given me and now my first day of my life on my land and island life just got better and I really think this place will work out for me here!"
"Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. The store is very cute with many grocery supplies but there is a young woman who works there wearing a headscarf that you should avoid. My husband and I went in to purchase some alcohol, when the woman asked for our IDs my husband said that he forgot his at the cabin, we understood that we could not purchase because of that. We then asked politely would it possible that only I come back later to purchase it so my husband could start preparing the cabin for our stay, the woman then became extremely defensive and rude, said no and stormed off. She easily could have explained this in a polite manner and we would have understood. Word to the owner is that your employee needs training in customer service, and word to visitors purchase all supplies on the mainland to avoid an event like this. Reading some other reviews it seems that others have experienced similar stories pertaining to this employee. This is not a review to hurt the business but one for the owners to improve upon and train your employees in customer service. She may have just been having a bad day, but that is no excuse. My husband and I are both 30 years old and look 30 years old, so this was not a case of a couple teenagers trying to buy some booze underage. We will go back if this employee gets training or is not working."
"Everything you could need. Island living means high prices. That’s unavoidable, but I found the prices to be very fair. I was able to pick up some hardware to do repairs for less than I would have paid at a mainland store! The book collection is great. I bought four books for $1 each. Great bakery and deli. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Toys for the kids and movies to rent. Ate Klondike bars at the tables out front and enjoyed the free WiFi."
