"Our rating is really 4.5. We had paper stone installed 12 years ago for environmental/green reasons. Still going strong. Warm to the touch. After 12 years and minimal maintenance, yes it has seen some discoloration. But that’s on us. It’s not perfect but it definitely des not look like 12 years of young kids using it. The good thing is we can actually sand it down at anytime and regain the original look, which we are planning on doing now that kids are off at college! If we had continued to take care of it the way it was prescribed, it would be close to perfect. Tip: Lay down tile around the sink. The worst discoloration is around that area. But everywhere else, it has held up physically very well -no chips, cracks or major scratches, and minor discoloration AFTER 12 YEARS. If you are trying to live sustainably or avoid granite for health reasons, this is a good alternative."
