"I recently joined the Spa to use the health club. Most of the employees have been amazingly friendly and provided excellent service. Shauna, the manager was incredibly rude and both interactions I had with her were unpleasant. She is very rude and unfriendly, enough for both my guests to mention she appears to be quite grumpy during their single interaction with her. The second experience was the worst in which she yelled at my children and they are terrified to return because they're worried they will be yelled at for doing what they are supposed to. Kids are not allowed to be there after 8pm, which she could have let us know by simply saying "Excuse me, kids aren't able to be here after 8pm." Instead, she came up to the track where my kids were running laps (as the track is meant to be used) and yelled at them "Party's over!" My son asked what she meant and she again yelled at them "I told you the party is over you need to leave now." Never have I experienced such a horrible treatment and she needs to either have customer service training or not interact with customers at all. I enjoy interactions with all other staff as they are friendly and helpful."
"Absolutely beautiful location. Once in the spa waiting room, it was a cozy, dim lit ambiance. Quiet room with a crackling fireplace. We scheduled a couples massage. We chose some add ons, they didn't have the Thai coconut milk so my boyfriend didn't end up getting any extras. I did the dry brush, not sure it was worth it. They also did some essential oil scents, very nice. Didn't really add much to the experience, besides a nice scent. My massage overall was nice. My boyfriend's massage I could tell was very good. His therapist asked questions and even gave him some tips and tricks for tight muscles and other issues he has. She was very helpful and did a great job on his hard back. After our massage we went back to the sitting area where we had a beverage of our choice, from their menu (mimosa, champagne, Sparkling apple cider, etc.). Once we went back to the locker room there was a sauna, steam bath, swimming pool, and showers we could enjoy. I'd highly recommend going to the Spa at Semiahmoo. I'd also recommend staying at the hotel for an overall perfect example."
"I took my wife for a birthday weekend at the resort, and we had a couples massage on Sunday afternoon. When I booked the appointment, the lady asked what kind of massage and I told her we just wanted something relaxing and the same thing we had on our last visit. My wife absolutely loved her massage however mine was the absolute worst massage I have ever had, it was awful. I felt I was at a physiotherapy session. She asked if there were any pain areas and I made the mistake of mentioning my lower back where she proceeded doing painful deep pushing while I raised and lowered my knees, all while being on my side; not relaxing in the least. I wanted the massage to end after only 30 minutes as my the positions she had me in were causing pain in my back, however I did not want to say anything as not to ruin my wife’s massage. One final note. I it is policy for mandatory gratuity which is not right. Tipping should be an optional way of rewarding a person providing a service when they have done a really good job, but this policy takes that option away from the customers, its just another charge. I attempted to get in touch with their management but there was no replies after several emails and I had to phone the resort where I finally got a reply which was literally a cut and paste email offering 10% on our next visit, which is insulting considering the gratuity I was forced to pay is 20%."
"Spent a few nights this week and scheduled the.tension tamer massage. Amanda was great and wanted me to let her know exactly what I wanted worked on. She met everything and I walked away 100% happy."
"Beautiful venue and has friendly staff. I bought my sister and me a massage. We went on a Saturday. The steam room was closed, unfortunately. We did enjoy the outdoor pool / hot tub though and the locker rooms were clean. We also utilized the sauna! The only qualms I had was with my massage experience. The woman who did my message was unprepared and spent more time gathering supplies throughout than focusing on the massage. I also asked for lip polish and she responded that she would have to go back to the back room for that and if I just wanted the kit to bring home and do it myself when I get home...SHE REFUSED TO THE REQUESTED SERVICE...It was evident she wasn't going to the service because she had to gather the supplies. Mind you all, when you're waiting they hand you a clipboard and you circle what you want. It was known that I selected that service. It felt like I was a burden for her. .. made me very uncomfortable. Her behavior was a roundabout way of saying she forgot but doesn't want to retrieve the supplies. The venue was nice, masseuse needs to work on her customer service."
