"If you’re going to run a business in a country that is not your first, it would behoove you to learn the native language at least enough to converse with customers. Secondly, in America we NEVER tip BEFORE the service nor would we EVER ask or demand for a higher tip. I would have tipped more but I had not received the massage yet and did not know what the quality would be. Classless people working here. Music for my massage was provided by YouTube with ads. Same song the whole time, on repeat. Song sounded like a rip off of a Christmas song. Yelling to other person in the spa during my massage. Genuinely felt at times like she was trying to hurt me. Draping was excessively sloppy. At one point the therapist threw the entire towel up in the air and then lowered it onto my lower half instead of walking to the bottom of the table and pulling down. If I were a more private person I would have been mortified. Just a bath towel for draping and no neck cradle so my face was smashed into the table the whole time and by the time it was over my eyes took 30 mins to stop being foggy from the pressure. Someone should also notify this woman that you don’t massage armpits while laying facedown. I’ve been to a lot of massage establishments and some outside of this country, so I have a very open mind. Despite the total lack of professionalism or proper technique, it was the way I was treated at the end that made me completely embittered toward it. I won’t recommend to anyone going forward. This was my second time trying this place. The first time I had a male therapist who was a lot kinder and more professional. Because of the way I was made to feel on the way out the door this last time by the young woman, I will not be going back again. And lastly, if you keep getting seedy folks coming in to your establishment, then maybe you should make it look less like a place that gives more than just massages. Fully covered windows is not a great look for a professional massage business. But they aren’t professional, so don’t bother going."
"Got a 60 minute massage , got 50 minutes of service . Had to prepay so I added the tip at the beginning. At the end the massage therapist tried to add an additional $20 to my tip and when I said no she was agressive and eye rolled . Would not go back."
"I just drove up in so much pain (no appointment) and I walked out feeling better than I have in maybe a year. Yes, I tipped. No, she didn’t hound me for it. Jenny was amazing during the message and found all the horrible knots that I have been keeping me up at night. I should have tipped her more, I’m going back for sure! I told her where it hurt, she fixed it. I was direct and to the point, pointing to the areas and she knocked it out the park! Thank you!"
"I’ve visited Oak Harbor Island Spa on and off for over a year and a half for treatment for my shoulders, I have always been greeted with a smile and the service has always been courteous and professional. The owner and her sister have become my friends over time and periodically I’ll drop by for coffee or give my birthday wish’s if there’s a birthday. On Mother’s Day this year I stopped by to bring a gift and flowers to show my appreciation for their hard work on my massage therapy. On a rare occasion if I’m there they’ll ask me to explain something to a guest, this particular Sunday they ask me to explain to a customer that a $ 5.00 tip for a 90 minute massage is not acceptable and $ 30.00 dollars is a fair tip as a 90 minute massage is hard work. The guest declined service and her card was refunded. I highly recommend Oak Harbor Island Spa if you are looking for a great massage at a fair price"
"In town for weekend and every massage appointment at traditional spas were booked for Mother’s Day so tried this out despite reviews. Fantastic - Jenny did a terrific job with hot stones, deep tissue and worked all my travel tightness out of neck and back. I will be back. Nah, you don’t get cucumber water but it was clean, convenient and a great value with an excellent therapist (Chinese massage style). Will be back. (I didn’t have any issues with tipping. Paid at end with generous tip, so no issues)"
