"It was such a great experience, "Jake" hoping I'm correct with his name the mechanic, and Laila helped me a lot and they answered all my questions, I took my bike for some adjustments and they did a great job, they were patient and very kind."
"Horrible experience here. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIKE HERE FOR REPAIR! My Trek Rail had a freewheel failure and I took it in for repair. They said they would order the part and it should be about a week. We'll, that was 3 weeks ago. Never once did I get a call explaining status or reasons for delay. I had to keep calling and they just kept saying that the part hasn't arrived. Finally I asked if they have a tracking number for the order, which they claimed they didn't???? So I pleaded with the guy to call Trek and get a status. He said he would call if he got the time with all the other stuff he has to do. Several days later he calls back and says Trek is giving him the runaround so he can't get the part, just pick up the bike. Wow, can't believe they can actually stay in business. So I call Trek, give them the part number and they say they have over 100 in stock and it will take 3 days to get using standard shipping. So the shop is flat out lying. For some reason the kid working there just didn't want to do the repair, but held my bike for 3 weeks, and they are a Trek dealer! Filed a complaint with Trek. By far, worst service in my 50 years of dealing with bike shops."
"I took my bike in for a new cassette, chain, cables and some other stuff today. I don’t know the name of the mechanic working at the store – there was only one of them – but he did an amazing job. The best, fastest and most competent bike mechanic I have ever seen. I’ve had the same work done at another bike shop on the island (Bayview) and the cost was almost $300. Skagit cycle did it for about $70. Sadly, the Oak Harbor Skagit cycle bike shop is scheduled to close August 28. I guess they will still have a shop up in Anacortes. Hard to understand. I tried to make an appointment at Greg’s Cycles on the mainland and they are booked more than a month out and won’t even take appointments for service. Obviously I don’t own the company, but I hope they pay this mechanic whatever it takes to keep him here. He is a treasure."
"I had spoken to Ben at the Oak Harbor store many months ago about buying a Trek, but he said none would be available until, he guessed, late July. He took my name and phone number and said he'd contact me. Well he was right on target about the date, but couldn't locate my phone number. But he remembered where I worked in Oak Harbor, so he came to my work place in person (instead of just calling) to see if I still wanted a bike. I had managed to get a Trek bike from the Burlington store and Ben was truly happy to find that out! This is the high level of customer service Skagit Cycle consistently provides and it's the reason I'd never buy a bike anywhere else, and why I will always have any work done on my bikes only at Skagit Cycle. Thanks again Ben for the great bike buying experience!"
"Bought a used bike and brought it over to them to see if they can take a look a look at it. They did great job trued the wheels and indexed the gears a little. I also ended up buying a park tools chain cleaner the price was just about on par with Amazon. Great little shop and very helpful staff."
