Reviews of Timber Dental Downtown Portland
"They only care about money. After consult and was given treatment plan, it was $9000. I saw that bone grafting was on there 3x ( approx $6000). Yes, I agreed to potentially having it during consult. But after that cost breakdown, I couldn’t swing it I called the next day, left a message that I would like to reconsider the bone grafting and no follow up. Days without a reply, I called their NE location for a records release form. They too found it funny no one answered I also brought up a concern about antibiotics at consult (have history of antibiotic induced yeast infections) doc was dismissive and looked annoyed. Go elsewhere. I recommend Beavercreek Dental if you’re in Oregon City"
"They did my fiances wisdom teeth removal. Very kind caring staff. Beautiful comforting environment. They went above and beyond. Made him feel very safe. And explained after care instructions to me in great detail. They gave us a lovely after care bag. It's the first day and he's doing well. Thank you Timber Dental for making him feel comfortable, and cared for."
"I need all my wisdom teeth removed. Im more than 4 hundred dollars in and only have an X-ray to show for it. After My consultation the print out says it will be $4,860 w/o insurance. After looking more closely once i got home i realize that they are charging twice per tooth. I realize this must be a mistake and thankfully i didnt put half down to schedule my appointment because who knows if i could ever get my money back. I will never go back. The consultation was $150 more than the estimated $100. The whole operation at timber dental seems very shady and all they care about is profit not patients. If you ever go here double triple check everything or it could cost you thousands of dollars extra."
"Summary: misleading information, lack of transparency around insurance benefits and charges. I am a patient at the Eastside location. At the end of July 2023 I was referred downtown to see an oral surgeon for a tooth extraction. It took a month to get an appointment with the oral surgeon who agreed that the tooth needed to be pulled. He explained that in addition to pulling the tooth a bone graft would be necessary to maintain the bone density of my jar and that without it I would have "bone atrophy and disfigurement" to my jaw and face. I was then sent to talk to the front desk who explained they could get me in later that day for the surgery and I would need to pay a little over $3000. I asked why so much for a necessary procedure when I have good insurance and the only answer I could get was that the surgeon was not in network. This is not true. The truth I have learned is that my insurance does not cover bone grafts at the time of extraction because they are not considered necessary but nobody explained this to me. I left completely devastated with an exposed tooth, no idea what to do, and no others options offered to me. I have since gotten the tooth extracted by another oral surgeon who was able to clearly explain my options based on my insurance coverage and explain that a bone graft is not necessary because the bone will grow back on it's own. In fact I have had 4 wisdom teeth removed and the x rays do not show any holes in my jaw."
