"My whole family has gone to Dr. Gutkin since he took over the practice from Dr. Diamond over a decade ago. Dr Gutkin is always courteous and charming. He describes procedures and prescriptions in detail and always consults us on cost and prevention. We hope to see him for many more years."
"I believe Dr. Gutkin the dentist here is very knowledgable and the hygienists here are some of the best I've worked with. They're friendly and patiently explain things in depth which I like. Generally I've enjoyed my dental work here however these is a bit of an aggressive approach when it comes to getting dental work done. I've never experienced so much pressure to get all my dental work done, perhaps out of perfectionism of the dentist, maybe some patients prefer this. I'm leaving 4 stars because it took me over three months to try to schedule my appointment for fillings with the front desk. They wouldn't reply to my emails for over three weeks, and when I switched insurance providers the front desk literally berated me over the phone over how long she had to wait on hold with my new insurance company, as if that is something I can control. I acknowledge that the U.S healthcare system is very unpleasant to deal with. Perhaps doing this full time can take a toll on someone. I just didn't want to deal with type of treatment from the front desk anymore so I switched to another dentist."
"Have been going to Dr. Gutkin for years now. I recently informed him that I was going to be losing my insurance. Instead of rushing a filling and possibly risking more damage he told me to hold off until I was able to come back. He gives great advice and is very knowledgeable. His receptionist is always so friendly and understanding when I’m running behind and scheduling appointments. The dental hygienists always leave my mouth feeling great."
"I decided to go here as it WAS in Magnolia and close to home. However, when I made my first appointment they had not updated their website to shoe they moved. Location was not bad so I still went. I was given a treatment plan for 8 fillings, a night guard and approximately $3,600 of dental work. Something here seemed off to me for LOTS of reasons. I still decided to do my cleaning 6 months later. At that time I was dealing with some other medical issues and stated I wanted to hold on the fillings until that was done. Dr. Gutkin urged me to do the fillings and in my opinion tried to scare me into them by saying it may have gotten worse and he may need to do a root canal, etc. He also urged me to use a prescription toothpaste. I did and it caused me to have actual pain I never had before. I finally decided to seek a second opinion. The new dentist said I have no need for a night guard, no need for prescription toothpaste and that I only need 5 fillings. Their treatment plan was not even $1000. I am glad I trusted my gut and decided to seek another opinion. RESPONSE: Yes the $3600 was before insurance and their quote is less than $100 before insurance. There was no mention of the additional decay as you state. Your office was notified more than the 48 hours required when I needed to reschedule. And yes I did move my appointments because things shifted in my schedule, that is called life. I WAS courtesy as I gave more than the 48 hour required notice. I also notified your office a week in advance I was seeking a second opinion. I was not contacted after that so don't think your office cared that I was seeking a second opinion. In fact my email was not even acknowledged by anyone. I was only cc'ed on an email sending the x-rays to the new dentist (but not the full records as I requested). I spent 2 hours in my first appointment. I should have been told then about a "preventative" night guard then. Instead told, that would be discussed at my next appointment. You may say what you will but your office received more than enough notice with each appointment I moved/rescheduled. Reviews are reviews and here for people to evaluate if a particular business meets their needs. Good luck in your practice but your business practices do not meet my needs so I left as a patient."
"A great place for dental care. Dr. Gutkin is knowledgeable and considerate. I recently switched to this place and learned a great deal of my dental health."
