Reviews of Wild Ginger McKenzie
"The food is good. Loved my dish even though I asked for no cilantro and it arrived smothered in fresh cilantro. At least I could easily remove that weed. Great service and super clean restaurant. Mongolian noodles there are outstanding."
"Nice place with great service. We tried the lamb and the Mongolian noodles. Both were tasty and the portion could be sharing size, specially the noodle dishes. For appetizers we got the spring rolls also tasty but nothing special. I will try something else next time. The prizes are on the higher end but for sure worth it."
"Uncertain where to begin, my experience with the lady server left me puzzled as her hospitality seemed absent, almost as if she lacked the desire to be there. A simple smile can go a long way, especially when you're at work, contributing your part. My anticipation of savoring authentic Asian cuisine was thwarted as I delved deeper into the restaurant's origins. To my surprise, this establishment was founded by a Caucasian couple, and both the chefs and servers were of non-Asian descent. The resulting dishes were far from authentic, presenting a peculiar fusion blend with an unfortunate burnt aftertaste. While the visual presentation was commendable, the lackluster flavors left me genuinely disheartened. The $27 beef dish was more of a comedic spectacle, and it left me wondering if the chefs had considered mastering the art of tenderizing flank steak the traditional Chinese way. Today's experience served as a lesson in the importance of researching a restaurant's history before making a reservation. It came as no shock that the clientele lacked diversity, and this undoubtedly contributed to my overall disappointment. A true letdown in Seattle, I must regrettably advise against visiting unless you're prepared to part with $120 Canadian dollars for a single appetizer and two subpar Chinese/Thai entrées. Oh, and be sure to avoid the burnt-tasting Thai noodles as well if you do plan to visit this place."
"Delicious food, came with a large group and had a good time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had another person come in last minute. Highly recommend the fragrant duck!"
"I walked in just before the dinner rush, and although half the dining room was empty I was told there was no available seating (due to upcoming reservations). There was an open spot at the bar, and after I placed my order they were quick to move me to an open single-seat table which freed up just before my food arrived. Service was courteous but not too warm and inviting. I liked the mochi cubes served with the chicken skewers, but I was turned off when I bit into the chicken and found it undercooked in the middle. Fortunately I didn't have any adverse effects later, but the texture of rare chicken was not very pleasant. Chicken Chiu salad had good flavor and nice amount of fresh ingredients. The rice dessert didn't look very appealing, but tasted good. I'm not sure I would return here after my experience with the chicken, as that will stick with my memory."
