Anacortes Ferry Terminal

"The only way to get to the Puget Sound is by Ferry. We made a reservation the day before and paid when we arrived. The whole process was easy even though we had never been on a ferry before. Price was reasonable considering we had an oversized vehicle. It made getting around San Juan Island easy! It also gives you beautiful views of the different islands on the way."

"Easy, affordable, unique, carefree travel...and totally fun! We took the Ferry over to Friday Harbor and it was so easy. Plenty of parking, the ticketing area and lobby is kind of small, so if you want to sit down, get there before the rush of people, but you can wait outside on there tables as well. The lobby also has very clean restrooms, and you can acquire some snacks inside too. The car lines arrive early, a reservation is a must, and prepare to wait, but... it's soooo worth it! The ferry was clean, and it had plenty of seating inside or out. The views are so unique coming from the water. Best of all, the ferry was on time for both departure and return! Oh, remember to NOT set the car alarm. Odds are...it will sound off if ya don't. Highly recommend a trip on this Ferry!"

"Don't forget to get your reservations early and if you don't, then they release new tickets at 7am 2 weeks before your dates and 2 days before. I got lucky and got tickets early on the 2 week mark but have another trip coming up and have to wait till 2 days before which is super stressful!"

"Great ride over to Orcas. On time, friendly staff and quick trip. Do make advance reservations, check repeatedly should you be looking to change schedule. Depending on season, standby May work as well."

"Reservations are highly recommended during high traffic times! Love our ferry system. The staff is super efficient and knowledgeable about their routes. There's a lot to do while you wait; food and restrooms are in a few spots and tourist information (pamphlets) are available inside the terminal and on each ferry. There is a pretty beach nearby to. Keep in mind that you may not be able to hear announcements from the beach or in the bathrooms. Walking onto the ferry is super easy. Parking is plentiful but it does fill up fast. Be prepared for a walk if you end up in the upper lot. They have been having issues with being understaffed so please be patient. They are doing the best that they can."
