Reviews of Ông Lắm Bistro
"My niece and I had been eager to visit this place for a while, and today we finally got the chance. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Saigon, creating a cozy vibe. The service was friendly and attentive. The food presentation and flavors exceeded our expectations—fresh, delicious, and bursting with aroma. The coconut dessert was a perfect balance, not overly sweet or coconut-heavy. We loved our experience and have already recommended this Vietnamese restaurant to friends. Check them out if you are in the area."
"We have been a fan of Pho Ha, so we had to check out this place. We had high expectations, and Ong Lam Bistro delivered. Food: As someone born and raised in Saigon, the authenticity of the food here struck a chord. Each dish is meticulously crafted with the right blend of veggies and herbs. Notably, Ong Lam stands out for offering culantro (not cilantro) to accompany their pho, a unique touch. The Banh khot appetizer was well-balanced, and if you crave Vietnamese cuisine the way it's enjoyed in Vietnam, this is the place. Our order included Banh Khot for starters, mi Vit Nuong Chao, and Supreme Pho – all exemplifying the finesse of Vietnamese cuisine. The Hội An frizz drink was also delightful. It's a nostalgic journey back to the flavors of my upbringing. Service: The staff were friendly, greeting us with smiles upon entry. Our waiter went beyond expectations, guiding us through the menu, understanding our preferences, and making thoughtful recommendations. As dishes arrived, he ensured our dining space remained comfortable. This personalized touch elevated our anniversary celebration. Service was prompt, even during a Saturday evening at 5:45 pm – drinks in 5 minutes and food in 10. Parking: Convenient parking is available in the building's garage, offering two hours of free parking. Electric car chargers add to the convenience, making it a hassle-free experience. Atmosphere: We love the vibe here; all the details are carefully curated, offering a distinctly Saigon ambiance. It’s a delightful spot for both date nights and friend gatherings. Minor feedback: Timing of the main dishes could enhance the experience if served after we finish the appetizer. Overall, our experience at Ông Lắm Bistro was nothing short of fantastic, ensuring a return visit. We're eager to explore their new sister restaurant, Xóm, soon."
"Very cute restaurants. Loved the decor and openness of the space. It wasn't busy at 5pm on a Sunday. I guess you have to make reservations online, they asked me to make reservations via Yelp when I tried to call in. Overall the food was really good, service was very fast, our female sever/hostess was very friendly but the male server could have been a little more friendly(he wasn'trude or anything but he didn't greet us when he first approached our table). We ordered the wings, the savory pancake wraps, fried Oyster mushrooms, mussels, sizzling beef plate, cafe xiu, and sparkling kumquat lemonade. Our drinks were really good, would order both again. Wings were ok, mussels were tasty (the sauce was good), pancake wraps were very fresh and flavorful. I really loved the fried Oyster mushrooms. Husband liked the sizzling beef dish-I was expecting more herb-y tangy flavors. It was pretty good though. Bread was warm and fresh. I definitely want to go back to try more dishes and cocktails next time."
"Excellent service and great Vietnamese food! The duck with egg noodles is my favorite. Reminds me of Saigon and Hanoi. Price is great and drink cocktails is a must!"
"Ông Lam Bistro brings delicious and comfort-inducing Vietnamese offerings that are rare to the Seattle scene. While their food menu is still fairly limited, you cannot go wrong with any choice. Additionally, their drink selection is surprisingly versatile: you can opt for a cocktail, a soothing, almost medicinal tea, or jello shots (highly concentrated) for a fun twist to your experience! The presentation of everything speaks for itself: it's beautiful and intentional. Prices are on par with the norm for your average Seattle restaurant (maybe on the slightly higher end based on portion for some dishes). I predict this place will be quite lively and trendy in the future, so make sure to be an early customer and enjoy the pleasure of being part of an early pioneer crowd!"
