"Original dishes, fast service, nice ambient, quiet restaurant. The best dish was the chick’n tikka masala. I really liked the sauce on the samosas, but they were not traditional samosas. A lot of the dishes were creative and required an open mind. The lentil kofta was essentially lentil falafel with veggies. The naan was not necessary, since the dishes had rice and it was really more like pita bread with seeds. Which is a shame, as you never see vegan naan anywhere. The dessert was okay. The texture was a bit off to us, but the blueberry compote was nice and very generous on the blueberries. Overall, the dinner was okay. If I did it again, I wouldn’t come in with high expectations my first time and I’d be open to the dishes being different than what they traditionally are. The food is good and original, the service is fast, the prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is nice and quiet for a dinner."
"This review is based on my second visit to Sudra. I went with a group of people so we ordered some small plates including the Tandoori Brussel Sprouts and Samosas. I was underwhelmed during my first visit so I decided to go with the tried and true Spinach Dahl bowl. Everything was just okay, nothing fantastic. Sudra just reopened after a short closure to repair damage from the January snow storm and I just felt like they were understaffed."
"Having seen an enormous number of amazing reviews and an equally number of bad reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect from this place. An interesting concept to begin with: a completely plant based Indian restaurant. While a significant portion of Indian cuisine is vegetarian, it is not necessarily plant based as a lot of dairy is typically used. So the idea of this restaurant is definitely innovative. We ordered mango lassi, potato samosa chaat, Indo-Chinese soy curls noodles and kale infused Dosa. Just like the reviews, I was split between my opinion of this place. First, the good parts: The Indo-Chinese soy curls noodles dish is very unique and it was definitely the highlight. Loved how crisp the soy curls were and they were properly marinated/seasoned. It was the perfect dish. I would come back just for this dish. The potato somas made chaat was also good (not great). The samosas could have been a little softer. Now the bad parts: the kale infused Dosa was bad. Very bad. It seemed like it was almost stale. It was definitely not prepared fresh. The mango lassi was not mango lassi at all. It was so tangy and sour. It seemed like it had tamarind instead of mangoes. Or maybe the soy yogurt that was prepared to make the lassi had gone bad/sour. The staff was also somewhat rude and not engaging. They were definitely unfriendly when we asked any questions to them. It just left a bad taste in the mouth both literally and figuratively. All in all, this place had lots of potential, but they need to do a better job of quality control and hiring better staff."
"Nice to have an all vegan option. If you’re craving stereotypical American Indian you might be disappointed. This restaurant is more of a modern vegan PNW take on Indian cuisine. Ingredients were fresh. Lots of indo-Chinese influence. Staff was nice. Outdoor seating available. The “small plates” are plenty good for one with some rice or bread."
"We had been here couple of years ago , we visited this place again recently . This experience was not good. Now It’s an okay place with average food and atmosphere. The plates are small so order accordingly. It’s pricey. This is not authentic Indian food. It lacks flavor. With many places to select , would NOT recommend this place."
