Reviews of The Port Taco Truck + Cantina
"It is a great place for a date night! Or even for a family dinner. They have a little arcade machine for kids to use while we eat! The music is just at right level to have a conversation which is great. They also have a great variety of menu options and unlike most mexican restaurants you can mix and match all meat types for street tacos. Usually other places you can only pick one meat type per order of tacos. Will definitivamente be back!"
"Food was good. Cleanliness was absolutely terrible. The tables are sticky & there was food on the floor. I'm in a wheelchair and had to use the restroom. The men's room was disgusting. There's a baby changing table in the handicap stall that doesn't close. Paper towel dispenser is just laying on the counter. Garbage can has a lid that has to be opened with your foot and for us that don't have feet it's a bit tough. Definitely not a ADA friendly restaurant. I find the prices are a bit steep. $15.99 for a burrito! I think the food was good but not $15.99 good."
"The concept of this place is really cool and definitely has a lot of potential. When my family and I came in it was right before dinner time so it was slow. We ordered appetizers and only half of the order arrived after about 10 minutes, we waited for the rest for another 15 minutes or so, I ordered the corn trio and as soon as I took a bite the inside of the corn was super cold. Next, we ordered our food - I got the tacos gobernador, typically those are just shrimp and cheese, I don’t like raw onions and when ordering I asked if the pico de gallo could be put off to the side, I saw the waiter kind of hold back when I asked for that and then he explained that the shrimp were mixed in with the pico, I then asked if the onion was fully cooked then and he said yes. Once my food arrived the inside of the tacos were 95% pico and like 5% shrimp, and that’s being generous. For the price of the plate it was truly not worth it in anyway. If they could better their food this place would be a crazy hit. We sadly won’t be back though. In the photo you’ll see on the tortilla I was able to pick like 3/4 pieces of diced up shrimp and all the pico I took out of the taco on the left."
"01/09/2024: There were 2 of us on a Tuesday around 5pm. Based on the very mixed reviews I'm guessing this place isn't very consistent. We really enjoyed our meal though. The two of us sat at the bar where there was 2 other patrons. It was pretty empty so service was prompt and friendly. We ordered bacon jalapenos, shrimp ceviche, el diablo burrito, and the special which was birria ramen. Everything was really flavorful and decent portions. The burrito really big. I was disappointed with the birria ramen since there was no meat. The broth (consomme) was very delicious though. Noodles were cooked al dente. They did not have chopsticks to go with the ramen but the bowl was super cute!! Shrimp ceviche was a large portion served with chips and really good. It was raining pretty good and when it was time to settle the bill their wi-fi went down. The server mentioned that when it rains their wifi gives them problems. Understandable, we had cash. We'll likely go back and try other dishes. The menu is quite extensive."
"Stopped by because the Ramen place next door was closed. Glad we did. The fancy torta I order was soo good. I tried ordering the basic torta but he talked me into La Mamalona. It worth the few extra bucks because it was big enough for dinner and lunch. The cheese just oozed off it. I will order this every time!"
