Reviews of Silverdale Goodwill
"Ive been donating to this Goodwill a lot over the last couple of years, but I do not think I will be back. The last few times Ive gone to do a drop off, the employees have just been so rude, making comments that are just unfriendly and off-putting about where to stop and where to drop off. Recently, I pulled up and got out to help the one guy unload my items since the bags were heavy and he was just flatly rude to me, making comments about how I needed to wait in my car for an employee to approach before getting out so I dont get hit by a car. Like, Im not a child, I donate frequently, and there was one other person donating. I wasnt walking in traffic or anywhere near a moving car. Whatever. I will take my donations to St. Vincent instead."
"Easy access. Friendly employees. Good quaulity stuff. Newly remodeled for fast check outfits organized and sections are labeled so your not wandering."
"Goodwill is the kind of place that I categorize as the only place on earth where people just openly fart no shame. You are always going to be walking through someone's crop dust, and it will be bad every time. I have noticed recently they are being very greedy with some of the items they're reselling. No reason something should be $500. It's a Goodwill. YOU GO THERE WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY. They have also locked down the bathrooms, so that's awful, but crackheads be cracking so that's understandable."
"I enjoyed going to goodwill in Silverdale quite a bit. There's always something different to look for. They offer a lot of different merchandise at reasonable prices. And they have color coded sales different days of the week. Extremely helpful employees. The only negative thing I would say is it's crowded at times."
"Before Covid I shopped at our local Goodwill stores few times a year. The pandemic hit, and I hadn't been back (other than to donate) to either one of our local stores until a few days ago when I decided to stop and go into the Silverdale Goodwill. Walking into the store was no different than walking in this time two years ago. Second-hand Halloween items adorned the entryway. Some things look like the handy work of someone, other items older, well-used, even dated-looking stuff, but if you dig deep enough, there are always a couple of really intriguing things that have been well cared for and quite the deal. Also, further into the store, they do offer other Halloween items new and used as well. The musty, stale smell can sometimes be overwhelming; obviously, this is due to the many "used" items, and it's to my understanding that they cannot launder the clothing themselves. I have not verified this information, just what was told to me by a former employee. Like all Goodwills, They offer many items, books, clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses, kitchen items, curtains, towels, toys, sewing items, electronics, tools, pet items, and often a small assortment of furniture, pictures, and tons of knick-knacks. I would be lying if I said I have never purchased anything from the Goodwill stores. I have found a few fabulous tops and winter coats, with price/store tags still attached, some beautiful teacups and saucers, decorative plates, and some fascinating crystal ware. And after doing research, all of these items were worth a lot more money than what I paid. The beauty of buying items from Goodwill is that things are repurposed and not landing in the landfills, which means preserving our earth; someone's trash is someone else's treasure. Goodwill is a non-profit organization that prides itself in job training and placement, especially for people with difficulties finding work. Also, Goodwill has sales throughout the month and usually offers a color-coded flyer as you first enter the store. Generally, what I could tell was the store appeared clean; some of their departs aren't very organized and messy like the dishes and kitchenware, but things come and go quickly. People come and go fast, so I would imagine it would not be easy keeping items like that perfectly organized. Everyone I have encountered at the Silverdale, Washington's Goodwill, has been friendly and polite! Parking at the Goodwill is sometimes a challenge, although there are quite a few parking spaces; if you don't arrive as they open, you may find parking hit and miss. However, for that said, you can park at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Goodwill is a stand-alone building; neighboring stores within walking distance are Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Trader Joe's. Goodwill's location is across the street (Mickleberry Road) from Costco. "This is a great time to support local jobs, find a treasure or two, and help a worthy non-profit organization. Please be kind to ALL living things.""
