We all know to use 'an' with vowels so you would also use 'an' before words with a 'vowel sounds'. So before 'hour' you would use 'an' BUT not before 'historic' as it has a consonant sound. Sad to think in her editing adventures how many times SHE'S been wrong lol."

Use the article an before vowel sounds: an energy crisis, an honorable man (the h is silent), an homage (the h is silent), an NBA record (sounds like it begins with the letter e), an 1890s celebration. Also, Donna, you proofread not "proof read". It's one word. When you correct someone, the onus is on you to make sure you're right."
