"Well I have a lot of Mexican food and this is just not good. It was very good looking but the taste was just not good at all. The only thing that was really good was the verde and the chips and salsa. Everything was worth a good two bites and that’s it."

"I have been searching for a go-to authentic Mexican since moving to Vancouver last year and after trying literally dozens, I have found it! First of all, the margarita was generous, made with fresh juice not a mix, and was well balanced. The salsa is handmade fresh and you can totally taste the difference! The nachos were so big that even I could eat half of them, and the carne asada was tender and flavorful. Even my pickiest kid, who never eats Mexican, loved a street taco!"

"I highly recommend La Valentina! This place is a new hidden gem. While the food prices might seem a bit pricey, the portions are VERY generous. You definitely get what you pay for. The service is outstanding. And the food quality and flavor is great! The only slight I would give was the octopus in my dish was overcooked, which made it extremely rubbery and hard to eat. The flavors were amazing however, and everything else was cooked perfectly. The new owners also did a very nice job with the remodel of this location - it was clean, well lit, and very comfortable. I did not use the restroom so I don't know the condition of it. Overall, very pleased and will definitely be back!"

"Husband had Azteca Enchilada (shredded beef): He said they had great flavor, perfect portion size, and the black beans were good. Chicken flautas were amazing! The sauce was lovely and the queso fresca was a new cheese for me. Looked like feta, but mild like mozzarella. Street tacos were good. I had chorizo and a carne asada. Both were good, but chorizo excelled! (I asked for onions on the side) Both meals had a small salad that included cucumbers, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, topped with a delicious dressing. We definitely plan to come back!"

"I really wanted to like the food here. The staff were super nice, and the interior was in great condition, all decorated for their grand opening. Unfortunately the food was 3 star at best. It was like the cook never heard of salt and pepper. I had the wet burrito, shredded chicken. I had to add barbacoa just to give it flavor. My daughter had the tacos, which she really liked, but only after doctoring then up with some flavor. My wife had the enchiladas verde, and had the same bland flavor as the burrito. Even the carne asada nachos were plain and devoid of flavor."
