Reviews of Community Appliances
"I was extremely disappointed in the service that I received from Community Appliances. I called to make an appointment to service a dishwasher, which they were able to schedule about a week out from when I called. The day of the appointment came and I never got any confirmation or reminder of the appointment, and since it is a tenant occupied property it was important that the appointment took place at the agreed date/time. I called a couple hours before the appointment to make sure it was still scheduled and was informed that A) it had not been scheduled, only put down as "notes" and B) they did not have the correct address listed. I understand mistakes happen, and was thankful they were still able to fit me in that day for the service. It was about an hour into the time-window when the tech was scheduled to arrive and I hadn't heard anything. Seeing that there was trouble before, I proactively gave them a call to double check that the tech was still planning to service the unit. When I called to confirm that they had the correct phone number on file, I was made aware that they had also taken my phone number down incorrectly. Keep in mind, this is after having several phone calls with them. Once the time came for them to call me in the evening to collect payment for the service - I was frustrated, but understand that people have off-days so I was understanding. They managed to get my credit card number right (the only information they seemed to make sure was correct..) and I gave them my email to send my invoice to, but never got my invoice. I called back the next day to check on why I did not receive it and was informed my email was also written down incorrectly. This was after I had spelled it out several times on the phone to them. I mean come on.... The service that the tech provided was satisfactory - however the organization, professionalism, and attention to detail from the office staff was severely lacking. I've called 3 times over the past two weeks to speak with someone about getting a reimbursement or at least understand how things could have gone wrong nearly every step of the way. I called again today and spoke with a lady (she hung up when I asked what her name was) -- who in so many words basically said "the service was done and there is nothing we can do". I understand that mistakes happen - however this was beyond frustrating and I was disappointed that they had no remedy or empathy for the situation. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending Community Appliance to anyone as they have been a headache to deal with."
"We are very happy with their service! They are very accommodating and will refer anytime we know to use them!"
"Bought my fridge from here about 3 years ago. I had a great experience then, and thought their warranty being longer than other secondhand places was great. The installers were great. Used the warranty once on some leaking/freezing and the tech came out, was here about an hour, and said everything was good. My fridge started leaking and freezing and eventually making a weird noise but by then the warranty had expired. So I paid for them to come out and diagnose and essentially paid $75 for him to tell us to take the back out of the inside and defrost it. That if he did it it'd be a waste of our money. Which I appreciated. So we did that and it helped for a bit. But the same problem started again. I called hoping he could tell me if there was anything else I could do, since the same thing keeps happening. He told me he didn't have time to check the notes and it'd be $100 for him to come out again. Honestly, screw that. I'm not made of money. You sold me a broken fridge, failed to repair it when I didn't have to pay, and then gave me a patch fix instead of actually diagnosing/fixing it (pocketing $75 in 10 minutes of just peeking in my fridge) and then refused to even look at notes for me! I'm all for supporting local but skip this place. They are profiting off the backs of people who are already struggling and are unhelpful once their shoddy "refurbished" fridges start falling apart. My fridge was also installed with a shelf held together with double sided tape and a roller wheel hot glued in."
"Wanted to trust and support a local small business and not contribute to constantly buying new things from big businesses like Costco. First washer broke twice just before the 6 month warranty, they replaced it with a washer which they told us was as good of quality as the one they initially sold us. Second washer broke after only TWO MONTHS, just long enough to be over the warranty. I called and asked if they could fix the washer as it had not been six months for this washer and they refused saying that you take a risk when you buy used and they only honor the first machines warranty (which is not mentioned anywhere), but would be understandable if it had lasted even another two months. What I can say is that this place is not worth the risk and based on several other reviews seems like they intentionally make it so the machines only make it to the warranty, which is a truly awful business practice. I hope this review helps some people from avoiding this place or makes them work actually work to make the product last."
"These cats are legit. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. The delivery/installation person was professional, fast, and strong like an ox. And it's cheap as ****. No delivery or removal fee. I'm going back for a stove next week."
