"If I was able to submit negative stars I would. My experience last night was absolutely horrific to say the least. I have never felt more insulted and humiliated in my entire life. I took my mom and my son who is 3, to shop at Burlington as we often do. While I was shopping, the security guard on duty approached me and told me I needed to leave the property. I was confused by this but assumed he was joking around. He then went on to say that one of the cashiers said she had seen me shoplift from the store before. I asked him if he was serious, because not even 2 weeks prior I had been talking with the security guard about how I also do security so I thought he was just being funny. He proceeded to say that he was not kidding, and that I needed to leave the store. I at this point was completely insulted and humiliated by this accusation, mostly because I have never stolen in my life, and to be told to leave based on heresy and nothing to actually go off, no video footage, no indication that I was currently stealing or had ever stolen, nothing. At this point I was in tears, not understanding how a company would allow this to happen to their customers with no evidence whatsoever. I asked the security guard if I could go give my mom my basket to have her purchase some things i was getting for my son, who was more than confused as to why his mother was crying and being made to leave. The security guard at this point had recalled our previous encounter from prior weeks, I could tell he realized that the cashier had been mistaken and started to say I didn't have to leave, but I was so humiliated that I wanted to just go home. My mother purchased the items as i waited outside with my son, attempting to explain what was wrong. The cashier who made the accusation, Riley, asked if she could come outside and apologized to me for her mistake. So I went back to the front of the store where she was suppose to be waiting but apparently she went back inside and continued to ring up customers, so I stood outside and had to then wait almost 5min for her to come back out. I explained that I have never been so mortified and offended in my life. She said she was sorry, but there is no way I could accept it, because that is not something that should ever happen to someone based off no actual evidence. I shop there frequently, and even am a member in the loyalty program. I showed her my security certification card and let her know that what she had done, and how they went about the situation was wrong, and that no one should ever have to go through something like that. Especially with my child with me. To be profiled and have my character publicly slandered was beyond upsetting. I am a good person, a good mother, to made out to be something I'm not, especially something regarding what I feel is so morally wrong, is something I'll never forget. I don't think I would be able to shop there again."
"This is a great store… don’t get me wrong on my one star… but quite frankly they have closed their restrooms corporately due to theft… catering to the stealing community but at the inconvenience of anyone who has a bladder, especially moms who are pregnant or have young children, who either need to go frequently or change diapers. Thanks for the customer service… we have to either hold it but don’t finish before rushing out the store to walk all the way to Target just to use the restroom. Your customer service and surveys will never get better for me until you give us restrooms for our simple human needs… and have insurance to cover your theft… theft has happened since the beginning of time… every store deals with it, you might be losing business just for the paying customers instead of saving your goods that haven’t been bought. Not happy and not sorry…"
"Five stars for having a great selection of clothes, dress shoes, and a wide variety of backpacks all at a great price. You can’t beat the prices on local sports apparel either. Had to take one of my children to the restroom and it was very very clean so extra points and stars for having a clean restroom. Overall a great experience and good prices."
