"Today I took my dad to Gustav's to celebrate his birthday. What a wonderful experience we had!! Our server, Stephanie, was absolutely delightful! She was very efficient and professional, and wonderfully friendly! The food was delicious!! I had the meatballs in lemon caper sauce. The sauce was delicate and flavorful. My dad had pork loin medallions with caramelized apples. He said it was the best meal he's had in a very long time! It was truly a fantastic meal! Try Gustav's soon!!"
"This place is pretty meh since they changed owners and shortened the menu. Which is strange, because we really enjoy Amaro's Table who bought Gustav's. The fondue is still as yummy as before, but the schnitzel is different. The sauce they used is thinner than it used to be and didn't really soak up in the schnitzel like it used to. The portions were smaller than the sharing plates we would order previously. We also went on a fairly slow Sunday evening where the restaurant was pretty empty and they sat us right next to the kitchen. All of the tables around us were empty so I'm not sure why they did that. We probably won't be going back any time soon, which is unfortunate because it used to be one of our go-to places and I really thought it would stay the same or even get better with change in ownership."
"Our group had a wonderful experience at Gustav’s. We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff seated us within a few minutes. It had been a few years since I’d been to Gustav’s and heard that there was a recent change in management. The food has been delicious from the beginning. I always order cabbage rolls. They’re savory and soothing for a cool fall evening. My friends had the meatball dish and chicken schnitzel. We all loved our dinners. For dessert, we had the Apple strudel, chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. They were all delicious! Camryn and Enrique provided outstanding service. They brought out our orders in a timely manner, kept our drinks filled and quickly cleared dishes when we were finished. Since our group hadn’t seen each other in a while, we lingered and caught up. We did not feel rushed to clear our table and we truly appreciated that they checked in periodically to see if we needed anything. Thank you so much for the lovely evening! We will definitely be back!"
"Great place. Sausage and kartoffelpuffer were good and rather faithful to German cuisine. Great German beer selection vom fass (on tap). The ambience nails a German bier hall (even if the posters in the alpine room are in French)."
"We first went to Gustav's many years ago and had a wonderful experience. There are so many food options around now and we've spent a lot of time trying other venues. Upon returning recently, it occurred to us how wonderful the food actually is. With the owners of Amaro's now at the helm, it seems things are even better than before. First off, service was outstanding and our server, Jess, was amazing and made excellent suggestions. We were kindly greeted at the entrance and seated immediately. We stopped in for lunch, had the fondue, a couple of beers, a Reuben sandwich and a bowl of lentil soup. Food was excellent and the fondue was fun for our daughter. Restrooms were clean, and parking ample. The space is wide open and pleasant and there are many things about Gustav's overall that make you feel comfy. Will definitely return to try the mains...soon!"
