Reviews of JOANN Fabric and Crafts
"We ordered fabric online for the purpose of making a large blanket. The order we picked up had 3 yards intact with the last yard in a separate piece - not ideal for making a blanket. When I called the store, I was trying to find out #1 - what to do and #2 if they had more of that fabric as it was to be a Christmas present and it was almost Christmas. The person on the phone basically told me they were stuck at the register and could not help me with that question. They then hung up on me. So we went to the store to make the return of the fabric. It was a long slow moving line with only one cashier at the front - Mary. When we finally got to the front of the line, Mary informed us it was store policy to ask the customer to take the returning fabric to the cut counter to be measured and verified prior to issuing a refund. She did preface her statement with "You're going to hate me." Somehow I held my anger and impatience and said, "You mean to tell me I have to wait in this line again after doing so already?" She took us and the fabric and walked us back to where she made sure we would be measured up immediately and then instructed us to return to her at the head of the line. Strangely, the woman who measured the fabric and who agreed we should not have received our order in such pieces turned out to be the manager. She was very nice and helpful. Here's the deal - everyone in that line was irritated by the lack of checkers at the front of the store. The only saving grace was really Mary and her exceptional efforts to maintain calm and to be incredibly helpful. It takes a special person to deal with a line of angry customers. Truly she has a gift and saved the day. I've never met a more positive person, honestly. Management should provide more staff during heavy shopping periods - especially Christmas Eve. They should make return policies clear at the front door BEFORE a customer is stuck waiting in line. They should train staff to refrain from packaging up fabric that might be completely worthless to a customer. And they should give Mary a big, fat, well-deserved raise because she is an amazing asset for a store unwilling to provide enough staff to give reasonable service to paying customers. Mary - you're my hero!!!! "
"My sister and I had an incredible experience tonight grabbing last minute crafting materials and Christmas items. Michelle specifically provided wonderful customer service and was one of the kindest cashiers I have ever had in any store I’ve been to. Thank you so much for making our experience great!"
"Hello, Today I placed my very first online order for store pickup. Based on my experience, It will be my last online order and plan to limit my shopping at Joann's to items I can't get off Amazon or my local boutique quilting shop. I sent my fiancé into the store to pick up my order when I received a notification that it was ready for pickup. When he arrived, he advised the only cashier (who later turned out to be the manager) that he was there to pickup an order. The manager collected my name and advised that there wasn't an order at the store for me. She advised that she would go check in the back. While she was doing so, my fiance called me. I sent him screenshots of my order number, the confirmation online that the order was ready, all so he could show them to the manager. The manager came back and advised him that they couldn't find my order. My fiance told me he would just pick up one off the shelf and pay for it. The only bottle on the shelf was a much smaller version of the one I had purchased online, and it wasn't on sell - $18.99 per bottle. He asked the manager if she could adjust the price to match what I had paid for the LARGER bottle because I had taken advantage of a 20% off coupon that offered a discount on a online ordered store pickup transaction. The manager then advised my fiance that she did not have any coupons available at the register or any means to discount the product. My fiance left the store very frustrated - as am I. My fiance told me when he got back home that another customer that had been in front of him in line was double charged for his items and when he came back in to the store to advise the same cashier/manager he had been dealing with he was advised that "he would just have to deal with it" and that customer too then left the store. I am a frequent shopper to Joann's for most of my fabric/crafting needs, and unfortunately due to this store management and experience, I plan to take my business elsewhere. It sounds like to me that someone should step in and perhaps more closely monitor how Joann's customers are being treated at this particular location before the manager runs more customers off."
"Normally I like this place.... Until i noticed they are raising the prices of stuff and then offering a discount to match the price it's supposed to be... Pictured example.. Manufacture says its 6.99 but joann's has it for 7.49and offering a percentage off. I'll never buy from here again, I'll order from Amazon and get it cheaper or the actual price it supposed to be"
"I love Jo-Ann's! The prices are competitive with Michaels arts and crafts and children's items but overall with their coupon sales and 50% off seasonal items they are awesome. Customer service is good and they have some unique difficult to find items compared to other stores. I enjoy the large selection of material, frames, paints& the clearance section."
