Reviews of Nelson's Market
"My first visit to Nelson's Market for breakfast was a great start to my day. The market itself and the historic building it calls home is in itself worth the visit. Nostalgic, charming, and they have everything you need. The dining area is just big enough and feels like a small town dining spot. They even have counter seating. Service was friendly and fast, the food was delicious, and we can't wait to go back. We tried the huevos rancheros and the eggs benedict. I love a good homemade hollendaise sauce. Next time I plan to try the French toast and real maple syrup. On our way out, the owner popped outside to introduce himself. Ben has lived around the corner for years and is the new owner within the last year. His friendliness and eagerness to connect cement the small town market vibe that I loved when I walked in. We look forward to becoming regulars!"
"I searched online for breakfast spots in Bellingham. This cafe was the first on a list that I found online. We drove a little over an hour to check it out and weren’t disappointed. The omelette and country fried steak were all excellent. The sausage gravy in particular was on point. The sourdough toast was really good. Great service too. The atmosphere felt like experiencing Americana from a bygone time."
"This is a great place to come to on Fri or Sat. Irish band tonight. Tap and can beers. Snacks or you can order food. This fish and chips were great. Reminds me of th corner grocery store when I was a kid. Worth a visit on the weekend. Honestly when I come back I will always come here for a beer. Be sure to come before 6 pm to get a seat."
"Came for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9:30, we were greeted immediately and the hostess let us sit where we wanted. Our waitress was really sweet and made sure to check on us often. We got the eggs Benedict and the breakfast style country fried steak. We are from out of town and wanted to have a tasty and hearty meal before driving back to Seattle for the day. Let me tell you that this diner will be the closest thing you’ll ever get to eating great home cooked food while you are traveling. The service was amazing and the conversation was lovely. The market offered regular convenience store items and had cute old-fashion decor. They have booth, table and outdoor seating. Can’t wait to come back!"
"The food there is awesome, better than I expected. Even though it is bit pricey than other regular breakfast place. Their service is great too. I ordered 2 Omelette, one with black bean, one with potatoes. Both are sausage, which their sausage is very special than others. They have small parking lot, street parking usually is not a problem."
