Reviews of CVS
"Came ten minutes before the store opens and still tried at 8:30 am, two people at the register but the doors aren't open. Guess they open at 9am."
"I’ve been picking up my prescriptions from this pharmacy for six years because it’s convenient. In general it’s a dump but I had always liked the pharmacist who recently retired. Today I picked up and paid for 4 prescriptions plus some cosmetic items. When I asked to use the rest room I was told by the new pharmacist they don’t allow the public to use the restroom anymore. REALLY? I am your patient, you give me vaccines and supply my medications and other medical necessities like that $100 automatic blood pressure unit and many other things over the past 6 years. I’m suppose to trust you with my life to not screw up my meds, but you won’t let me use your bathroom because I’m the public? And here I thought you views me as a valued customer, Guess this is the end of our relationship 9/4/22- as an update, I found info online for their internal corporate ethics violation reporting line and gave an overview of my complaint. I received an immediate call back from a 3rd party that must man that number and then about 3 weeks later I received a call from their Regional Manager out of Illinois stating that this wasn’t policy and the pharmacist should have opened the door for me . He was very nice, professional and had some compassion. We’ll see in time how it plays out at the store. But.. I was pleased to see their corporate team do what is right 12/25/23 update generally improved experience - however it’s probably 3 star at best and hours are incorrect online - it says they have holiday hours today closing at 6pm when in fact they’ve been closed all day."
"Me and at least two other people had experiences where the pharmacy workers tried to play God with our medications. My experience is that I was possibly profiled as someone who didn't deserve to have a controlled substance (I have ADHD and for several years have had the same prescription). I switched to this location when moving. I successfully for 3 months filled my script here. The 4th time I arrived with my partner who is black to pick up my prescription. I was wearing an alternative outfit. I believe they assumed I was reselling or something? I was treated differently than I ever have been wearing my work clothes or when I came alone. It was not outward but there were strong microagressions. At first I brushed it off until what happened next. I had came in to ask in person if my script could be filled because I hate dealing with the phone system to do it. The script had been sent in but with scheduled substances there's heavy restriction on when you can fill it and unlike other non-scheduled meds you can't have it autofill. You need to initiate the process every time. Initially the tech said that she would have it ready in 15 minutes. Another worker who had been eyeing me and my partner told her no and then told me they couldn't fill it until 3 hours later. That registered as weird but I thought maybe the first worker didn't realize how busy they were. But I called in 3 hours and they said they were unable to fill it. They said despite me having picked this up 3 times previously that now suddenly I didn't have the correct prior authorization (PA). I called my doctor's office and the attendant said that there shouldn't have been an issue but just to be safe that they would resubmit the prescription for me because it sounded like something weird was going. She agreed with me that it sounded like it was not for procedural reasons but someone misusing their authority that this happened. I was able to get this sorted out and then immediately switched pharmacies. Read the other one star reviews and you will see that others have had experiences where they were withheld medication for arbitrary reasons. What ultimately made me decide to make this review is that I have two friends that experienced transphobia here. Whoever was in charge would not fill their HRT prescriptions for no legitimate reason. This pharmacy trains people to profile people and allows transphobic workers to interfere with what trans people's doctors prescribe to them. I switched to the CVS on 75th and blue mound but there are also several Walgreens in the area. I understand keeping people from reselling controlled substances is important but you need concrete evidence of that, not a baseless hunch in order to justify meddling with someone's ability to get their medication. The day this happened to me I had to put my entire day on hold to try and get a hold of my doctor's office. I couldn't get my medication until the next day. Medications like these are essential to someone's functioning when they have ADHD. Luckily I was able to rearrange my schedule and make it work to get this medication, but I didn't deserve to have to sacrifice my ability to function by waiting an extra day when I was out of a medication because someone made snap judgments about me. TLDR; the pharmacy here has normalized misuse of authority to prevent people from getting their medications for arbitrary reasons."
"Me and two other people I know have had multiple issues with the pharmacy. Do not use this pharmacy if you want your prescription to be respected. 1. Told they straight up did not have it. 2. Told they needed PAs which my nurse practitioner said was bizarre 3. Messed up prescription Do not use their pharmacy. Eventually they will have an issue. The culture there does not seem to be good. Look at the reviews and you will see years of people saying that their script was disrespected"
"I work for a clinic that sends Rxs to many CVS locations. Extremely rude pharmacy staff, misinformed about laws and no manager to speak to about issues regarding staff. My clinic has reached out to corporate repeatedly due to horrendous interactions with pharmacy staff. Was called by CVS location to verify information on Rx I faxed to them and was hung up on when I explained why they did not need a DEA number for a non controlled substance."
