"Clean area. Great for walking your dogs, playing baseball, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. The pavilion is clean with grills and the beach is open to the public. There is a boat launch and fishing pier too. There is a few Port-O-Potty's. I believe the on-site bathrooms are closed though."
"Who would expect a pickle ball court? Shelter included changing rooms and coverage from rain. Sand clean from debris. Plenty of parking. Bike trails too and fishing."
"This is a great park with pretty much all you need. you can set up volleyball play basketball on multiple courts and the beach and playground are right there. if you wanna fish there is plenty in there! bass, crappies, sunny and a bunch of northerns. sometimes 36 inches or better. The wooden dock and the other dock behind the harley place are some of the best spots to fish at tanners but if you bring a boat or skidoo just remember there is a 10 mile an hour speed limit. please dont disturb everyone! have fun"
"Smelled very fishy, but I guess that should be expected so close to the fishing pier. Some visitors were playing music loud. It was still a nice break from the heat."
"The story behind the "Jorge Washington" park bench: Right next to the boat landing there is a park bench marked with the words "In memory of Jorge Washington Beltran Gomez" Jorge Washington Beltran Gomez was an Uruguayan immigrant named after the first president of the United States out of admiration for this country. Jorge spent over twenty years in Minnesota and was great man. He was an amazing son and father, a faithful friend, and a beloved member of the community. His gregarious laughter would fill up a room with happiness and he was always helping anyone he could. If it was 3 in the morning and 40 below and your car wouldn't start, you could count on Jorge to be there with a big smile and a set of jumpers. He was loved by all his friends and family alike and his death left a gaping whole in the heart of all who were close to him. He was also an avid sportsman. Hunting and fishing was his passion and many times after a hard days work he would hitch is boat trailer to the back of his big old Dodge pickup and head straight to Tanner Lake. He lived just up the street and this place was very special to him. When he finally lost his battle with cancer, his brother and sister took his ashes, loaded them in the boat and took Jorge for one last ride on his favorite lake before depositing his ashes in an undisclosed location. I like to believe his spirit is still there at the lake, or at least it visits sometimes. So if you are down at the lake and you're having a good day fishing and you're suddenly hit with a positive feeling, and a big bass hits your lure you can bet that that's our old pal Jorge throwing him on the hook for ya. Cause that's the kind of guy he is."
